The weight of the past two days bore down on me, pressing against my chest like an unrelenting storm. Every breath, every step, felt heavier than the last.
Gabriel's next moves had been swift and merciless.
By the time the enforcers arrived, it felt like the final blow I hadn't been prepared for. They marched through the front door of our once-warm home, their faces devoid of emotion as they began listing the restrictions: hunting rights revoked, access to pack facilities restricted, the suspension of my father’s position.
