Her words cut through me like sharp silver claws.
“They found silver poison in his veins! The pack healers revived him, but he's critical! Charlotte, please, I need to see him!”
I couldn’t speak at first. My throat felt like it had closed, and my heart pounded so hard I thought it would burst. “What?” I finally croaked, my voice barely audible. "Silver poison? That doesn’t make sense! Why would he—”
