Sleep refused to come to me, no matter how exhausted I was. I lay sprawled on Alexander's luxurious bed, the black silk sheets cool against my skin. The room was cloaked in a serene, almost dreamlike darkness, with only the silver moonlight streaming through the large windows to keep me company.
