"Ravenna," a female voice called. It was Kate.
I froze at the sound of her voice.
Keto pulled back immediately, and I could barely look at him as we turned toward the shore.
Kate stood there with one hand on her waist, staring at us like she was piecing together a puzzle she never wanted to solve.
She didn’t say a word.
Just nodded.
“Nice to see you, Kate,” Keto offered, like we hadn’t just been caught lip-locked and naked in a river.
Kate didn’t even blink. Her eyes were on me the entire time. “Food’s ready,” she said. “And I’m not leaving until you come with me.”
Keto gave a sheepish smile. “We weren’t doing anything.”
“I never said you were,” Kate replied, her voice flat.
Keto turned back to me. “I’ll go first.”
