I had eyes and ears all over the place so it came as no surprise to me when I received a call from the witch's guild.
"My lord? The elder met with a woman that matches your description." A woman's voice said through the phone.
"Did you do what I told you to do?" My voice showcased my impatience as I tapped my fingertips against my desk.
"Yes sir. I put it in her tea." She paused. "My lord, I've done what you've asked. Please… can you release my daughter now? You swore that you would."
"I'll release her once I get confirmation that it worked." I growled as I heard her take a sharp breath.
"You promised that you would release my daughter! Please! Release her this instant or I'll tell the elder of this plan!"
