***Lanie's POV***
The next morning shimmered brightly in the windows. Opening my eyes, I let out a sleepy yawn before rubbing my eyes and carefully walking to take a shower.
The warmth from the water soothed me and made my ankle feel a bit better. Leaning against the shower, I started to think of Alec. His smile, his laugh, how he tries almost too hard to get me to notice him… it was endearing. If my fate had been different, I would have given it a chance.
Sighing, I hobbled out of the shower and got dressed in a sky blue sundress and sandals that one of the she-wolves dropped off for me last night. It felt so good to be clean and to be in new clothing. A knock at my door broke me out of my daydreaming.
