Suddenly, I felt nothing. No pain, not Rosalyn's breath on my neck. I opened my eyes cautiously and gasped at my surroundings.
Everything was frozen in time right before Rosalyn punctured the skin in my neck. I stared wide eyed and terrified while the room was enveloped in a blinding golden light.
Rosalyn was a mere inch from my neck but she stood as still as a statue. I scrambled up and away from her. Terror filled my eyes at the sight and fear kept me rooted where I was.
