Kelly I couldn’t describe the relief that flooded through me the moment I saw Alaric. Even shirtless, standing in the pale glow of the moonlight pouring through the broken window, he looked like a knight in shining armor— no, fiercer than that. His chest rose and fell sharply, muscles taut, veins standing out as though ready to strike down the world itself for daring to harm me. The moment my trembling body collided with his, the dam broke.
