Kelly Alaric cleared his throat, snapping me from the daze I hadn’t realized I’d fallen into. My thoughts were still tangled between the memory of his touch, the terror that had nearly stolen my life, and the strange, impossible warmth that came from his presence. He arched a brow at me, that teasing curve playing on his lips again. “I’m waiting, Dr. Kelly,” he teased, his tone light but laced with amusement. “Oh—right!” I stammered, feeling my cheeks flush crimson. I turned away quickly, hoping he wouldn’t notice the way my heart had begun to race all over again. Rushing to the wardrobe, I pulled open the doors, my hands trembling slightly as I searched for the first aid box.
