[Amelia] Dogs are chasing me through the woods, their teeth snapping at my heels as I stumble through the undergrowth in a tattered and stained nightgown. Mud squishes between my toes, splashing onto my legs as I stumble towards a raging stream. If I can cross the water, the dogs might lose my scent. Racing forward, I am snatched back as the white silk fabric catches on a bush, refusing to tear free. “No!” Screaming I pull and pull. “This can’t happen! I need to get out of here. I need to be free.” The fabric tears and I go tumbling back into darkness. Closing my eyes, I brace myself for impact with the ground. Except that it never comes.
