“Ivy. It’s time to shift back.” Ivy’s wolf shook her head. She didn’t want to shift back. She was free here. When she was Ivy, there was too much.
“Ivy, SHIFT BACK!” Al threw his Alpha power into the command. He hated to use it on her, but he needed her to go back to human now. This latest information had to be shared with everyone and by now, he knew they knew the two of them took off. He watched as Ivy struggled to shift back. He walked over with the box, inside it had women’s clothes for the pack when they came to run. “I’m sorry to force it upon you, but I won’t be sorry that I met your wolf.” Al apologized to Ivy.
Ivy got dressed and told Al, “There is nothing to be sorry for. You found her for me. I feel almost complete.”
You are complete. “What was that?” Ivy asked.
“What?” Al questioned.
“I heard something, inside my head.” Ivy held her hand to her head. Al chuckled.
“That would be your wolf. You have a connection with her and will be able to communicate with her all the time now. She can hear you and you can hear here. If you would like, we can get you information and train you on your new wolfness.” Al suggested taking her hand. “We must get back to the house now. We have to let everyone know.” Al squeezed her hand. Ivy sighed.
“I know. I just wish this could be easy, you know? Like we meet, date, then add in everything else. I was supposed to go to Ireland in a few days. I doubt that will happen.” Ivy sighed.
“I will take you. When this is all done, I will take you.” Al promised her.
Ivy stopped walking; she wrapped her arms around Al’s neck, and lightly brushed her lips against his. “Thank you.” Ivy started to step back but Al pulled her in.
“You’re welcome.” Al didn’t wait this time to ask her permission. She opened the door on that one. He brought his lips down on hers, using his tongue to open his mouth. As he deepened the kiss, Ivy moaned. They didn’t notice the black fog coming from the ground through the forest. When they broke apart, they were both lost for breath.
“That was one hell of a ‘you’re welcome’. I liked it a lot.” Ivy told him with a smile.
“Race you back to your house? I don’t know if I can touch you again without throwing you to the ground. This is getting harder than I expected and no pun intended.” Al said as Ivy let out a booming laugh. Al shivered. Something was off. He needed to get her back to the house.
“One… two… three..” They both shot off and made it back to Ivy’s in record time. As they reached the front lawn, Liam came out the front door. He was followed by the rest of them, and it did not look like a welcome party.
“Just where in the world have you been?” Mary exclaimed!
“We already lost you once tonight, then you think it is a good idea to take off again? Without telling anyone? You are so lucky, Liam had a link on you the whole time! What were you thinking Alastair Montgomery Larson!” Ida yelled at her son. Al’s eyes bugged out. His mom almost never used his whole name unless he was in some serious s**t.
“Could we possibly go inside. There is something we do need to discuss but I know we both could use a drink.” Al persuaded.
“Inside. Now.” Eddie snapped. She saw the fog coming down the street from the woods. Everyone turned to see what she was looking at, then scrambled to get in the house. As Eddie closed the door behind Liam who was the last in, she ran her hands over the door as she had done with every door and window in the house. The door glowed a blue hue then went dark.
“This house is completely protected with all I have in me.” Eddie turned and walked into the living room with everyone.
“You and you are in some serious hot water. Now explain yourselves before we get into what that was that was following you.”
Eddie sat across from them just like she did earlier in the night.
“I had to get Ivy out of the house. There was so much going on and so much she still doesn’t know. I could see the panic attack starting to happen. So I took her outside – honest it was only to clear her head. I asked her about her wolf and I bugged a little when she told me that she didn’t have one.” Al looked sheepishly at his parents then felt his hand being squeezed. He smiled. “I challenged her to a race since she is miss have to be good at everything.” Mara laughed. “I saw it in her eyes. I saw her wolf for just an instance.”
Gasps came from everyone in the room. Eddie’s eyes narrowed. “You said you saw the wolf in her eyes, boy?” Al swallowed hard at the look in Eddie’s eyes. “Yes ma’am.”
Al rubbed his knee. “I figured, I don’t know, I had this idea in my head. If her wolf showed when I challenged her, I could get her out. So we went to the river bank. It was peaceful and quiet.” Al told them the rest of Ivy’s interaction with the deer, then her shifting and them running. He left out the parts where it got physical, because he wasn’t sure if Ivy wanted everyone to know. He would speak to his father later about it. In fact, Al mind linked his dad;
Ivy needs to learn how to control her wolf. She needs instruction and knowledge of our ways, especially if she is to be Luna of the pack one day.
I agree. I will suggest something of that nature. They asked you a question, boyo.
“I apologize. Would you repeat that?” Al asked.
“How did you know to use the Alpha command on Ivy?” This was from Jim.
Al shrugged and thought for a moment. “I don’t know as if I thought it or I just knew it would work. Once I saw the glimmer in her eyes, I knew I had to see the wolf behind them. She is spectacular. I have never seen a wolf like her.”
“Ivy, darling, what happened with the deer?” Again, Jim asked.
Ivy stared off for a minute before answering, “It was weird. One minute I was just admiring the doe. She was beautiful and when she saw us, I knew she was frightened. I didn’t want her to be scared, so I told her we weren’t going to hurt her. I felt warm inside, I’m not sure how to explain it but I could feel me sending her signals. Then when the buck came, oh how he was so magnificent. I couldn’t take my eyes off him; he felt familiar to me. When I saw him and Al starting to square up, I couldn’t risk either one of them being hurt. I knew I could talk to him. I knew he could understand me. I don’t know how, again and it is super frustrating, but I went with it. When we were standing in front of each other, I just knew he would trust me. I could feel him, and when I touched him, I connected with him. I could sense everything. It wasn’t until I touched his flank, on it was a white crescent moon; when I touched it, images flooded in and I mean flooded in. I could see everything the buck and I had done together. I could see me charging him, I could see his love for me as his Queen. When the doe came up to me, I could feel the life inside her beginning and I knew I had to protect those babies. I could sense their life lines and how strong they would become. I knew they would be important to me. I felt the power flow through me. The buck bowed to Al. I knew they were our subjects. How do I know so much and so little at the same time?”
