Bastian It was just past midnight when my phone buzzed on the nightstand, the sharp sound slicing through the quiet of the room. I groaned, reaching for it, expecting a late-night update from one of the pack members. But when I saw Ben’s name flashing across the screen, I immediately sat up, my instincts on high alert. Ben wouldn’t call this late unless something serious had come up. I answered, my voice rough. “Ben, what is it?” “I found him,” Ben’s voice came through the line, low but urgent. “The guy behind Kaida’s kidnapping. We’ve got him cornered.” My blood ran cold.
