Kaelen “Kaida,” I murmured, leaning closer to her hospital bed, my hand still holding hers gently. “Can you remember anything? Who took you? What happened?” Kaida blinked up at me, her face pale, the weight of exhaustion clearly evident in her features. She opened her mouth, her voice barely above a whisper. “I… I don’t know.
