The sound of a pack howling enveloped the air, every glance at the bushes around me were a different pair of wolf eyes, in every color imaginable. The sound of paws thrumming on the ground could be heard getting closer and closer, I wanted to scream, but my throat was closed with panic. Suddenly out of no where a tree root tripped me and I stumbled to the ground, scraping my hands on sharp rocks and needles. I hissed at the scratches before fearfully turning around and saw a sight that will haunt me forever... a white Lycan stood before me, elegant and graceful. It's pale white shining eyes staring back at me, hints of red flecked the irises. It was huge... bugger than Axel... but there was one thing that made it different than the others... it's wide pitch black bat wings that fanned out, demanding dominance. Suddenly the dream stopped, I was falling in a sea of black now. Peace. Bliss. And the smell of cologne swam around me. It was a peaceful dream compared to the nightmare I just had... I woke up to strong arms enclosed around me. A warm, slow breath was whisking on my neck. I was comfortable, warm, and calm at the same time. I wasn't sure who the person was, but their warmth made me smile as I snuggled closer and closed my eyes. The moment a familiar groan sounded behind me I froze... Rory held me tighter and dug his face deeper into the crook of my neck. Panic flooded me as I checked myself, relieved I was still clothed. What was he doing... why is he laying with me? Was this a trap? Maybe he was doing this to seduce me again and make feeding off me much better... or maybe this was a punishment. "Good Morning." He breathed, his arm sliding to my stomach and rubbing gentle slow circles there. His voice sounded so f*****g adorable... I was falling in love with it. If Rory wasn't such a asshole I probably would enjoy waking up to him and hearing that sexy morning voice every morning... "Good... morning...?" I muttered, still overcome by the shock of what's happening. He shimmied closer to me and took an inhale of my scent before sighing satisfyingly. "God you smell good..." he rasped, his hand stopped it's circular motion and he started pawing my belly. "Can we talk?" He breathed. He sounded so genuine, it was scary. I stayed still as he pawed my stomach, his hand respectfully not roaming anywhere else. Something was off... Then he said it... the words that shattered every negative possibility. "I'm sorry, Luna." A joke, this has to be one, sick, twisted joke. As if hearing my thoughts, he wrapped his arms protectively over me. "Luna, I'm sorry. I was scared. It's no excuse but what I said, it was horrible... you didn't deserve that." He breathed, another intake of my scent. "You asked why I cared?" I nodded, something was different this time. "I care because out of every mortal brought here, you're different. I care about you, like a lot... I never cared for a mortal like this. I didn't even think it was possible until I met you. After what I said to you, I thought about some things. Clarissa, you're maid, helped knock some sense into me. I want to be a better person for you, and you alone." He said smoothly, he sounded serious. There was no anger... no coldness in his tone. Just sincerity. "Luna... I care about you." The moments those words left his mouth, my walls I built came crashing down. Everything I hated about him disappeared. My inability to trust him, gone. But the only thing that reminded, was the hurt he caused. "Rory." I said, he stiffened but pulled out of his cuddling position before sitting up and looking at me. "Rory, I don't know if... if I can believe you." I said, and this time I wasn't imagining it, there was hurt in his eyes. "Then let me show you, that I mean it." He said, guilt clouded his gaze as he stared at me. His eyes begged for the forgiveness I couldn't quite give yet. Not until he proves his words are truthful, not until he truly changes. "Then show me." I said, I sat up and scooted away from him. I didn't like being near him, it brought to many bad memories. Rory nodded before standing up. "I will not force you to stay in here today. Go anywhere you like. If you wish, you may eat in here. If not, breakfast will be prepared in the dining hall. If you want to eat there I won't bother showing up. I'll keep my distance from you.." he murmured. I was too shocked but remembered a favor I wanted to ask. "You're other 'blood bags'... please let them be." I pleaded, his jaw muscle twitched but he nodded his head. A silent 'okay' before shutting the door softly behind him. Getting up I removed the blanket from the mirror... but when I looked into it, that white Lycan looked back at me. It's piercing eyes penetrated my flesh. I swallowed before flinging the blanket back over it. I don't think I'll be able to look into mirrors again.. but regardless, I changed into another silk gown, and slipped out do my room, going straight for the dining hall. As promised, Rory wasn't there. There was a long row of different assortments of breakfast items waiting for me and the maid/servant vampires that resided here. Though they prefer to drink blood, all the ones here were once human. They missed the mortal food so much they join their mortal masters and eat with them. There was pancakes, eggs, scrambled eggs too incase someone didn't like sunny side up. Sausages and bacon, waffles, syrup freshly made, omelets, hash browns , and much more... my stomach growled and a few of the humans looked at me, sympathy gleaming in their eyes. I grabbed myself a mushroom, cheese, spinach, and bacon omelette with some hash browns, and 3 strips of bacon. Orange juice was served to everyone besides the few who preferred milk. The omelette was the best thing I ever tasted. It melting perfectly in my mouth as I washed it down with orange juice. I was practically moaning with every mouth full I got. For blood drinkers they make mortal food so well that it bring mortal cookers to shame. Clarissa took at seat next to me, she was smiling now. "I see he talked to you?" She said, taking some food that seem to be going away as the others ate too. "Yeah, I... can I trust him?" I asked her. It was a genuine question. She taped her fork on her plate before shrugging. "He sounded so worried last night. He felt so bad, even found puke in his trash can today. Maybe f*****g Amanda makes him sick when he thinks about you." She teased. I tilted my head, "Amanda?" I questioned. She looked at me and face palmed herself. "Right, Amanda is Rory's little side w***e. I swear she sticks to him like glue when no one's around. He only f***s with her when he's frustrated or angry." She said matter if factly. I gaped like a fish. "So he's a play boy?" A few people spit out their drinks before looking at me wildly. Clarissa only scoffed, "Heavens no. Rory and Amanda go a long way... he broke it off with her when she became too possessive." She declared and everyone returned to eating. I silently ate the rest of my food, the only thing on my mind was Rory and the Mysterious White wolf that consumed 70% of my thoughts...
