Princess Cecilia’s fate was written. One season hence, she would be summoned to her husband’s home to become his wife. This inevitable turn left me with an unknown future that was as murky as the future I’d contemplated since I was taken from my village.
The Princess would take her Lady Diana with her, but not me. I know she railed at her father over this, and her brother. Her mother, having been gone some months knew nothing of it; though it was unlikely that the powerless woman could change these decisions. Diana was part royal born.
