Chapter Ten The fragrance of wine greeted my nostrils with such sweet pungency, I thought I was actually tasting the grapes, though none of that potent juice had passed my lips. Just to look out on the verdant colors of the golden landscape inspired my lust. It was more that just the crazy passions I had with my Florentine lover, Antonio. This was another, elemental lust that was provoked in me. I’d been having dreams again, that shadowy figure that had appeared to me before, when my life was at its lowest point, was coming to me in the night, though I still could not make out his face.
