? Alyssa's POV ?

I entered the room only to be welcome by the beautiful sight of the room, looking at the painting on the wall seem to blink at me like they were greeting me. The room is white with beautiful murals on the wall, hand painted by someone who knew what they were doing on the other side of the room, the walls are all burnt orange and red.

The furniture is rustic and dark, sprinkled liberally with vibrant cushions. I've never seen a room with so much furniture and so many hues. The white curtains are velvet which hid the long windows across the room just leaving a shy peak, the kind of white that is untouched by hands and devoid of dust. The floor is a high polished wood, dark and free of either dust or clutter. The room look amazing, it made in a way that it isn't just a room, it is a home. I can stay here forever.

Long journey is really stressful, I went to the en suite bathroom. The bathroom was really nice too but not as large as the bedroom. The walls were large format tiles of white travertine and floor was made of dull brown tiles. The enamel was chipped in the sink, the formica peeled from the vanities which were of a dark wood and the counters were a brilliant white quartz. Gleaming granite counter tops, walnut framed mirrors, shower with glass wall with a oversized shower head, fluffy towel neatly arranged on a thrift store chair in the corner, fluffy bath math and a laundry center. It absolutely beautiful!. I unclad myself and went into the shower, it's been a long day. I took of the tower from where it was kept and wrap it on my body, it is really fluffy and fragrant, maybe perfume was applied on it. I came out and put on a comfy dress for the evening. I sat on the coach there, it felt as if I was melting. I heard a knock, “come in.” I said as responding to the knock.

One of the maid that I saw earlier came in.

“ Sorry to disturb you ma'am.” She said bowing.

That ma'am stuff is making me feel old.

“ No problem ma'am.” I said smiling.

She raised her eyebrows quizzically "Ma'am are you referring to me ?" She said pointing to herself.

"Well I don't see anyone apart from you, so yes ma'am." I said as I nod my head.

“ Please don't call me that ma'am.”

“ Don't call me ma'am too, it makes me feel old or do I look old to you ? ”

“Well no you don't, you look beautiful.”

I blushed “Thank you.”

“ I'm sorry I can't stop calling you ma'am, I am oblige to do so, ma'am.”

“ I am also sorry, I won't stop calling you ma'am..” I smiled cheekily.

I can sense she does not know what to say to convince me again. .....

“Anyways just tell me the reason why you are here.”

“ I almost forgot, I came to tell you that lunch is ready and the Master seek your presence and I am here to lead you there ma'am.”

“ Master ?”

“ Your grandfather, ma'am.”

“ Oh okay, let's go ma'am.” I said , she just shake her head and went out, I followed her.

We got to the dining room, there was a long table and a chandelier on the ceiling. I wonder how many people do eat there. I met grandpops and Nana sitting with their food covered, were there waiting for me ? I wondered.

Nana lifted her head up immediately I entered. “ Alyssa come sit down, I prepared your favourite.”

I sat down and smiled at her. I opened the food it was spicy basque chicken and rice. I took a bite from the chicken and moaned in enjoyment.

“Oh my god, this is really delicious, wow grandma you a great cook.. I said as I gave her a thumbs up,..... I need to learn from you.”

She smiled.

A young man came to the dining room. “Greetings to you all.” he said as he bowed.

“What do you came here for ? ” Grandpa asked.

The man then turn to grandpa “I came to inform you that the package has been delivered.”

“Okay you can go.” Grandpa said dismissing the man.

The man left, grandpa stood up.

“Please excuse me.” He said as he took a serviette to wipe his mouth.

“ Won't you finish your food ?” Nana said as she looked at him.

“I am filled up, I have eaten enough.” He said then walk away.

She sigh sadly. “ He never finishes his food.”

“ Don't worry grandma , I am here and I have extra stomach I will eat it all.” I said as I took a spoon from his food.

She gave me a genuine smile.

We finished our food and I offered to tidy up but she refuse so I went upstairs to my room then went towards my bed.

But first I touched the mattress as I reverently rub my fingers along the silken mattress, pressed my cheeks to the cool and velvet pillows. The comforter was thick and irresistibly soft like a billowing cloud. I lay on the bed it was bouncy and comfy. I was envelope with warmth and darkness and soon succumbed to sleep.

By the time I open my eyes, it was night fall. I checked the time it was 1:05 am . I stood up from the bed and went towards to the window and open the curtain since the stars will be out by now, I love looking at the stars. I saw something glowing, something in me was urging me to go have a look.

I went downstairs and walk towards the door and open it gently but it made a loud noise. Fortunately for me nobody came. I ran towards the gate but it was locked,now how will I go out now?. I saw a light maybe it is a firefly. It was moving, I don't know how I find myself following it but I did, It stopped.

I got confused where am I? Gosh I’m so stupid why will I be following an insect. The thing stayed on a wall that is covered with vines and thorns also flowers on it the only part that was not covered was the door knob, I twisted it.

The door opened and I went in. So it leads outside the house.

“Thank you firefly, now to see what is that.”
