Thirty-Six | Witchcraft

Titus I answer the door while Cali scurries off to the bathroom. I’m surprised to see my mom and Andrea standing in front of me. Andrea nods at me and says, “Good morning, Alpha.” My mom begins to push past me as she walks into the room and she asks, “Where is she?” I huff, “In the bathroom. I didn’t realize we were doing this first thing this morning.” My mom gives me a hard look and says, “Andrea can’t stay around forever, son. We need to figure out if Cali is fine.” “I’m sure she’s fine, mom, they told us the scent thing was just from natural fairy remedies.” Andrea’s eyebrows raise and she says, “Alpha, I could sense some witchcraft with her. I just want to make sure she is safe. I only have your best intention in mind.” The bathroom door opens and all eyes are on Cali. Her eyes land on mine and I can see she was caught off guard, but she smiles that gorgeous smile of her that makes everyone feel welcome. She walks into the room and goes to my mom and gives her a hug as she says, “Good morning, you guys.” She turns towards Andrea and says, “I haven’t had the opportunity to formally meet you, I’m Cal.” Andrea smiles at her and says, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Cal. I was just telling Alpha Titus that I sense some witchcraft on you and I’m just here to try and figure out if it could cause you any potential issues. Is that okay with you?” She nods, “I’m happy for you to check me out.” Andrea smiles and says in a soothing voice, “Great, if it’s okay with you and your mate I would like to be alone with you while we do this.” I can feel a growl forming in my chest as Kane is highly uneasy about this idea. Cali looks towards me and asks, “Could you two leave us for a moment so we can discuss it?” The ladies nod and walk out the door and when I hear the door shut, I look towards Cali and say, “No way, I’m not letting you spend time by yourself with a freaking witch. I don’t care if my mother trusts her. That’s crossing a line for me.” Cali sighs and comes closer and places a hand on my cheek and says, “I don’t think it’s a bad idea. You can stay right outside the door and check in with me every few moments. There must be a reason she wants to be alone.” “Yeah, and what if that reason is so she could take you from me?” Cali rolls her eyes and says, “And what if the reason is so she could help us?” I begin to grind my teeth and Cali asks me with wide innocent eyes, “Don’t you trust me?” I huff, “Of course I trust you, Calliope. I don’t trust her. I don’t know who she is, and I don’t know her intentions. I just… Cali, if anything happened to you, I don’t know if I could ever be able to move on.” She sighs, “There has to be some way we can compromise on this.” There’s a light tap on the door and Cali walks over and opens the door and this time only Andrea walks in. She looks at me and says, “Alpha, it is fine with me for you to stay in here as long as you don’t interrupt the process. Is that fair?” I nod in confirmation and Andrea smiles and looks towards Cali and asks, “Are you ready to get started then?” Cali shrugs and sits on the ottoman in my room and says, “Let’s do it.” Cal Titus sits on our bed and Andrea lights some candles around me and begins to burn some sage and sprinkles something on me. I don’t know anything about witchcraft, but I would like to get this over with and move on with our day, so I don’t ask her any questions. She places her hand on my forehead and the other hand on the back on my neck and she tells me, “Relax and trust in me, Cal.” I close my eyes and take a deep breath and reassure myself knowing that Titus is right by my side if I were to need anything. My eyes begin to burn and I feel a lot of pressure on my head and down my neck and arms. It makes my breathing heavier as I endure the pain. I decide to focus on Esther and I ask her: Are you okay, girl? She whimpers softly in my head and says: She’s undoing something… it hurts, but I think we need to push through. I take a deep breath and mumble back to her: I agree. We got this. We are stronger than anything this witch can do to us. I smirk for a moment appreciating my wolf, but then let out a loud gasp as the pain gets more severe. Suddenly, my butt collapses with the floor and I clench my eyes closed before slowly opening them. Things seem dizzy and out of focus for a moment and I look and see that Andrea has been thrown across the room and fell on a coffee table that is now shattered. Things slowly get into focus and everything seems sharper than it ever has before. Titus asks and I can’t help but notice the fear in his voice as he asks Andrea, “What is that?”
