Titus
After finishing my workout with the boy’s this morning, I went up to my office to do some paperwork. I’m working on a proposal to send the Starry Shadows pack because I am hoping that we will be able to reach a peace treaty and make an alliance together.
I hear a light knock on my door, and I murmur, “Come in.”
I glance up when I hear my door open, and I smile seeing my mom come in with a small plate of Cali’s cookies with a cup of milk and she sets it on my desk. She says, “You’ve been up here for a while and you didn’t eat after your workout I figured you would be peck-ish.”
I smile, “Thanks mom.”
I take a bite of a cookie and force myself not to moan out loud from how good they are. I ask, “Do you know how Cali is doing?”
“Last I heard she’s still out meeting the pack.”
I check the time and see that it’s almost two and I begin to get concerned that she hasn’t come back for lunch, but my mom calms my worries as she says, “Don’t worry, sweetie, I’ve heard several pack members talk about how they got to be around the Luna today.”
I nod as I take a sip of my milk and my mom says, “I do want to talk to you about um, Cali’s stuff.”
I tilt my head to the side, “About what?”
“Her eyes and her markings… I know no one really hears from the royal wolves anymore, but I do think we should try to make contact with them. Maybe they would come check her out and maybe that would lead to something.”
I nod as I let her words process and I breathe out and say, “Yeah, could you get to work on that? Let me know what you come up with before you contact them and I need to talk to Cali about it.”
My mom nods with a smile, “Of course, son.”
We sit in the silence as my mom eats one of the cookies as well and our silence is interrupted by the sound of squealing children. We look at each other, confused, because right now in the main house no one has any kids.
My mom and I both walk down to the living room and I see Cali sitting on the floor with some toy cars and some little figures. I stand back and cross my arms as I watch her play with the two children. Kade is swooning in my head over the thought of her with our pups. My mom nudges my ribs and whispers, “She’ll be a great mother.”
The little girl jumps up and is holding two figurines as she yells, “The bad guy gets away with the princess!”
She runs off with her figurines and Cali picks up the little boy and says, “Oh no! Not if super Chris has anything to say about it! Whoosh!”
She chases after the girl as she holds Chris in front of her and yells out, “We’re going to rescue the princess and that bad guy is going to jail!”
Chris laughs loudly as they go and lightly tackle the girl, Alya, and they all laugh.
Cali’s head lifts up and her eyes meet mine and she whispers something to Alya and Alya’s head pops up and her eyes land on me and she runs over grabbing my hand and says, “The prince needs to be woken from his deep sleep!”
Cali laughs and asks, “And just how do we do that?”
“Duh,” Alya very sassily responds, “You have to kiss him!”
Cali stands up and gets on her tip toes and gives me a quick peck and Alya claps and says, “Yay! The prince has woken up!”
My mom clears her voice and we all look towards her and she asks, “Kids, would you guys like some cookies?”
Alya jumps up running towards my mom and Chris yells in a funny voice as he runs off, “Cookies!”
Cali chuckles and turns towards me and tilts her head to the side when she sees me looking at her and asks, “What is it?”
I shake my head just feeling in awe of her and ask, “Is there anything you can’t do?”
She rolls her eyes and looks over at the kids who are sitting happily with my mom. My mom links me: She’s had a long day. How about you two go have some alone time and I’ll watch the kids. Just ask Cali when their mother is coming.
I ask Cali, “Hey love, how long are you watching the kids?”
“Until dinner and then Rose is coming over to eat. What do you want? I think we should have something homecooked and no takeout.”
I nod, “Understood and I’ll ask the omegas to whip something up. In the meantime, how about we go upstairs?”
She laughs softly shaking her head no, “I can’t do that. I have to watch after the kids.”
I grab her hand and nod towards my mom, “I think my mom’s got this, love.”
She looks back towards my mom and I watch as Cali’s eyes glaze over and I realize that my mom must’ve reassured her that it’s fine and for her to go with me.
Cali sighs and nods as I lead her to our bedroom.
Cal
I lie down in the bed and let out a big exhale. It feels so good to be off my feet. I’ve been on my feet pretty much all day.
Titus is like a freaking mind reader because I feel him taking off my shoes before rubbing my feet. I let out a moan and say, “I love you so much.”
He chuckles, and I ask, “Hey, we never discussed what’s going to happen tomorrow.”
“What do you mean, Cali?”
“Tomorrow is Monday, it’s a school day. Am I able to go?”
I hear him let out an uncomfortable groan and I sit up as I pull my legs towards me so I can sit crisscross and I say, “I want to attend school, Titus.”
“I know, Cali, just last time we were there you went into heat and your eyes are now purple again and I mean at least your markings are covered.”
“So what if my eyes are purple? All the wolves would’ve heard about that by now since they turned when I was around Alexander and if any humans ask anything then we say they’re colored contacts.”
He groans, but nods letting me know that I can go back. I lunge over to him and wrap my arms around his neck as I pull his face to mine for a deep kiss.
