Once our meeting was done and everyone slowly begins to scatter, I grab Cali’s hand and walk towards her parents. Her dad looks at me with a small smile and asks, “Yes?”

“I would like for Cali to stay the night.” I look at her and back at her parents and say, “As long as all of you are okay with it.”

Cali looks at me startled, but slowly a big smile spreads across her face and she looks towards her parents for their approval. Her parents look at one another and nod and her dad remarks, “I understand that’s how it is with mates you move really fast. I actually have to commend you, Titus, you’ve been going out with Cal for over a month, and you have never pressured her to spend the night or do anything she would be fearful of. I know with the mate pull it gives you the desire to move faster so I’m very happy you could resist that urge a little.”

Her mom adds, “We’re going to go ahead and go home tonight and begin packing up our house.”

I smile and offer, “Don’t worry too much. I can send movers to help you with that.”

She smiles brightly, and I ask, “Have the two of you had much thought of where you’d want to be at?”

She says, “I like being out near a lot of nature and we’re kind of used to being secluded. We would love to pick a plot a little further away on the pack lands and be there. But since it takes time to build can we start with being in the pack house?”

I nod, “That sounds like a great idea. Do you have any needs Mrs.?”

She smiles, “My name is Danica, but you can call me Dani. And please, Alpha Titus, drop the formality you can just call us Dani and Rich or maybe one day mom and dad.”

I smile and say, “I can do that, but only if you drop the Alpha and Luna unless we’re in a formal setting.”

Rich nods in agreement and says, “Thank you, Titus. Could we get a ride back to our house? Britt brought us here, so we don’t have a vehicle.”

I nod, “Of course, I’ll arrange something for you immediately.”

I smile as I turn to leave, and I notice in the corner of my eyes Cali waves at them with a huge smile on her face and then she puts her hand in mine and follows me out.

I mind link Eric and ask him to make some arrangements for her parents and I walk with Cali over to the staircase and we head down to the second floor of the pack house. I bring her towards my room and say as I open the door, “This will be our room for now. We are about to start some construction around here. We’re looking at adding a fourth floor or another pack house behind this one and separating things a bit more. Whatever we do we will either have a private house or a private floor that will belong to our future family.”

She looks at me with her eyebrows raised from my remark about a future family and I say, “I mean, you know, not anytime soon. But I mean, I just thought one day-”

Her giggles cut me off and she shakes her head as she says, “I know what you meant, Titus, I expect we’ll have kids one day in the future. And not too soon… I’d like to enjoy my time having you to myself.”

She bit her lower lip after that remark and then walks into the room and plops herself on the bed like this has always been her room.

I can’t help but chuckle at her actions and she props herself up on her elbows as she looks at me curiously and asks, “Did I do something funny?”

I shake my head no and say, “I just like how comfortable you seem to be here already.”

She smiles brightly and then yawns loudly as she lies back on the bed and cuddles into the pillow as she says, “I’m exhausted.”

I nod, “I get it. Your first shift does that to you. How about you get a nap and I’ll find you something to eat?”

She pops up and enthusiastically says, “I completely forgot about food! I’m STARVING!”

I laugh again and ask, “What do you want, Cali?”

She bites her lower lip and says, “I don’t know. Everything sounds good. Pizza, Mexican, Chinese, steak, pasta, ice cream- AH! Too many options just pick one.”

I nod and walk over to her and give her a peck on the lips and say, “Get some rest. When you wake up there will be a feast for you.”

She nods and lies back on the bed and I begin to walk to the door, but I stop when I hear her voice, “You’re the best mate, Titus.” She yawns again and asks, “Is it crazy that I feel like I could be in love with you already?”

My heart stops and my stomach flips that she said those words. I turn around to look at her, but it looks like she’s fallen asleep. I smile softly… I’m going to make sure she has a meal she never forgets and then I will tell her how much I love her. She is feeling the same things I am she needs to know that the feelings are reciprocated.
