Sixty-Five | Reconciliation

Cal I watch Titus and he watches me. Both of us waiting for the other one to make the first move. It’s like we’re in some kind of showdown. Suddenly, his face softens, and he comes closer to me and takes my hand and says, “I don’t want to fight with you, Cali.” The sparks shoot up my arm and the bond between us is trying to convince me to let all of this go just due to his soft words. I say, “I don’t want to fight, but there’s a lot that we need to discuss.” He nods, “I agree, there is. How about we sit down and talk, huh?” I nod and sit on the floor waiting for him to join me. I see his eyes are glazed over so I know that he is in a mind link with someone. I look at him skeptically as he sits beside me and I ask, “What’s going on?” He smirks at me and says, “Wouldn’t you like to know?” I roll my eyes and huff and say, “Yeah, I would. I’m the Luna of this pack I have just as much of a right to know what’s going on as you do and instead, I’m always left in the dark because you are like trying to ‘protect’ me or something.” I look at his face and see that he is stunned by my little outburst. He nods and says, “You’re right, Cali, you do have a right to know what’s going on within the pack. That link was me asking Hugh to bring something here for me and I wanted to surprise you with it. That’s why I wasn’t going to tell you.” I sigh sadly as I turn away- now I feel like a jerk. He surprises me when he says, “I get why you lashed out at me, Cali. I’ve been handling you like you’re a child that I need to protect and you’re not. Instead of keeping you in the dark I should be inviting you into everything so that you can learn more about our pack and always know what’s going on.” I smile at his words and say, “I want to be a good Luna, but there is only so much that I can do whenever you’re not helping.” He nods, “That makes sense. How about this weekend you join me on my routine, and we will talk about all the stuff we need to get you started on? Like, training for instance- we need to get both you and your wolf stronger.” I smile, “That sounds good.” His eyes glaze over and he says, “Be right back.” I sigh as I look back at the waterfall with a blissful feeling waving over me. This is exactly what we needed- just some time together to talk things through. I watch as Titus comes back carrying a very large picnic basket. He comes and begins to bring things out of the basket. He sets out a large blanket for us to sit on, brings out some wine glasses along with some wine,  and a large fruit plate. I smile as I move to sit on the blanket, “This looks great, Ti.” He smiles, “I’m glad you like it.” Suddenly I feel a jacket over my shoulders and he says, “It’s freezing out here, I don’t like that you’re only wearing a t-shirt and leggings.” I chuckle lowly, “What about you?” He scoffs as he sits across from me and begins to pour our drinks, “I’m an Alpha, the cold doesn’t bother me.” I roll my eyes at his words causing him to chuckle deeply. He passes me a glass and I take it as I mutter my thanks. Normally, I don’t drink because I’m technically underage, but since finding out I’m a wolf it doesn’t matter. It takes A LOT of alcohol for us to even get tipsy so it really doesn’t matter if I enjoy a glass of wine right now or not. We sit enjoying the sound of the waterfall and enjoying each other’s presence. Titus’ voice is soft as he says, “So, Kane told me one thing about their conversation.” I ask, “What is that?” “He said that you thought I cheated on you… is this true?” I look towards him and the broken look on his face brought me near to tears, so I look back down at my hands as I nervously play with them. I stutter, “I-I mean, ye-yeah a little bit.” He scoots closer to me and holds my face as he makes me look up at him and he asks, “How could you ever think that I would want anyone else?” I sigh, “Titus, it’s been a month since I became Luna and since then like… things have been different. Surely, you’ve noticed it. We are hardly ever intimate, I only see you when it’s time for us to go to bed, like… it just seems like you don’t have time for me.” I see his eyes tear up and it makes me feel even worse and he pulls me into his lap and he cradles me as he puts his head in my neck. He breathes in my scent and says with a shuddering breath, “There is no one else for me, Cali. I’ve just been so focused on finding whoever sent that letter and how to find out more about your origin that I didn’t notice I wasn’t spending much time with you. I love you, Calliope, please don’t ever think that I would cheat on you.” I change my position a little so that I’m straddling him and I grab his face and make sure he’s looking in my eyes as I say, “I’m so sorry for doubting you, Titus.” I lean down and keep a small gap between our lips as I tease him. He gasps and tries to capture my lips in his, but I won’t let him and I say with a teasing smirk on my lips, “Enjoy the suspense.” He dramatically rolls his eyes, but allows me to play my games. I watch as his eyes darken as he looks at me and I take his lips in mine and kiss him passionately. Clothes are quickly ripped off of us as all we can think about is feeling each other’s carnal desires.
