Titus

It is great seeing my mom and Cali connecting on such a personal level. I’m really glad that they seem to be getting along especially since the Luna ceremony is tonight. I was really worried if my mom would be okay with letting go of being Luna, but she seems to be doing just fine.

I leave Cali to have a meeting with Eric and Hugh, I want to make sure there’s plenty of security tonight with the Luna ceremony. I don’t want anything to ruin tonight.

Once I get done with them, I go searching for Cali’s parents. I’ve done a lot of research on how we would be able to bring Danica into the pack since she is not a wolf and I think I may have figured something out, but I have to make sure that they’re open to the idea.

I walk to Richard and Danica’s room and I knock on the door. When Richard answers I hold out my hand to shake his as I say, “How are you doing, Richard?”

He smiles at me as he says, “I’m good, Titus, it’s nice to see you this morning. How is my daughter doing since her heat has ended?”

I answer, “She’s doing good and we’re all just trying to get ready for the Luna ceremony and to welcome you and your wife into our pack. Speaking of that, I found something that might work that would allow your wife to have a bond and link to the pack. I wanted to come and speak with the two of you about it.”

I hear his wife speak up, “Well, come on in, Titus and let’s talk.”

I smile from hearing her southern accent and Richard moves out of the way allowing me to come into their room. I made sure they had one of the larger rooms and I noticed they have rearranged it a little so that there was a loveseat and a recliner in the corner along with a bookshelf for some reading or just a nice place to sit. The two of them sit on the loveseat and I sit on the recliner and say, “So, I’m not sure if this will work and we won’t know until we try tonight.”

They both nod for me to continue, but I can see a spark of excitement in Richard’s eyes at the thought of being able to make a mind link with his wife. I say, “Normally, this is something done between with a pack when someone’s mate is a human. What happens is the Alpha will allow their teeth to elongate like you would when you mark someone, but you bite into their wrist and you have to remain there for like 30 seconds. For some reason that has allowed a bond to form for the human to be able to bond with the pack and it’s like that spark as well as the mark they have on their neck from their mate allows the mates to have a mind link.”

Danica shrugs, “It’s worth a shot. And if it doesn’t work, I won’t be connected and that’s okay. I will be loyal to this pack regardless because that is where my husband and daughter are.”

I smile at her response and say, “By the way, Danica, my mom was looking for you.”

Her eyebrows raise in response and she says as she gets up, “Well, I better find Luna Amy. Good to see you Titus.”

“You too.” I say as I nod at her and she leaves the room. I look towards Richard and I say, “Richard, I’m just curious what kind of roll would you like within the pack or if you would like one at all? I know you used to be a Beta.”

He smiles at me, “I’m not looking to do much, Titus. Anything you ask of me is fine, but I would be happy just being a member on patrol or something else just like a normal pack member.”

“Well, I’ve been speaking with my Beta and Gamma and one thing we really want to start up is having a board of Elders. Our pack is getting bigger and as we continue to grow in size, we think it would be wise to have those older than us with more experience give us advice on our next steps and on big decision. You have plenty of experience, sir, and I would be honored if you could be one of our Elders.”

Richard’s eyes widen from my question and I swear I can see some tears beginning to well up in his eyes and he clears his throat as he nods and says, “I’d be very honored to be one of the Elders, Titus.”

I smile, “Great, I’ll give you more details as we continue to get everything together, but for now I really must go and continue to get things ready for tonight.”

He nods, “Of course, thank you, Titus, it’s always nice to see you.”

Cal

When Titus and I got done eating dinner I decided to go for a walk to see if I could find his mom. I don’t feel right about just sitting around and doing nothing today. I’m about to be Luna of this pack and I need to step it up and be involved with the people and be the best Luna I can be.

I find her by a small platform where they are building an archway and she is talking with some other ladies about which flowers would go best for decorating. I touch her shoulder to let her know of my presence as I come up behind her. She looks at me with a small smile and asks, “Cal, what do you think? What kind of flowers should we use for the ceremony?”

“Um,” Before I can answer I hear my mother’s voice behind me say, “There needs to be some purple accents due to her eyes.”

I smile as my mom wraps her arm around my shoulders and pulls me towards her in a side hug. My mom says, “Luna Amy, I heard you were looking for me.”

Amy smiles brightly and says, “Yes I was!”

Amy turns towards the other women that were around and says, “You can move on to the next thing, we’ve got it from here.”

Amy turns towards my mom with a smile on her lips and says, “I actually was hoping that you could help me get this done. I want it to be perfect and reflect our kids, the leaders of this pack, well. I want it to be tasteful and beautiful and-”

My mom says, “And you think as a fairy I have good expertise in this?”

Amy smiles, “Well, yes.”

My mom laughs and turns to me and asks, “Before I do this, do you need anything, darling?”

I shake my head no and say, “I just wanted to do something. As the soon-to-be Luna of this pack I think I should be doing more than sitting on my butt.”

Amy smiles, “Spoken like a true Luna. Here, come with me,” She pauses and looks back at my mom and asks, “Will you be alright, Danica?”

My mom nods without looking at her as she continues to stare at the arch trying to get a vision of what she wanted. I smile and say, “Hey mom, I’d like it if you got ready with Luna Amy and I later?”

She smiles, “Of course, honey, now go!”

I chuckle as Luna Amy and I walk back into the house.

Luna Amy leads me into the kitchen and says, “One of the first things that I did after becoming Luna is I made cookies for everyone in the pack and the day after my ceremony I went home to home to introduce myself and get to know everyone on a more personal level. If you really want something to do think of a way to connect with everyone. It doesn’t have to be cookies. Just think of something. Now, I’m going to go help your mom and do more stuff for the ceremony. Either relax or do something to connect with others. Today is your day, Calliope, please leave everything to us.”

I nod as I exhale deeply and look towards the kitchen as I think of what I can make to connect with the people of my pack.
