Cal
It’s been 3 weeks since Titus and I have started dating and every day seems to get better than the day before. I’m having a hard time not falling hard for him. He’s funny, handsome, smart, and he just makes me want to be better and I never grow tired of his attention.
It’s Saturday and we’re on our way to the diner to see Betty. This has become a weekly habit of ours and Betty LOVES him, and I love the validation that I get from her.
As we’re in the car I look over at him and see that he has a very focused expression and I ask, “Are you okay, Ti?”
He smiles at my nickname for him. Nobody else calls him that and any time that Eric or Hugh tries to he gets mad at them. He grabs my hand and says, “I think it’s time that was meet each other’s parents.”
My eyebrows raise in surprise and I ask softly, “Are you sure we’re ready for that?”
He smiles at me and says, “I’m sure. My mom has been dying to meet you.”
I nod nervously, and we pull up to the diner. He comes around and opens my door, but when I step out, he grabs my face and looks at me. His eyes filled with concern and he asks, “Is that okay with you?”
I nod, and it makes him smile and he kisses me and says, “Come on, I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.”
Titus
Calliope and I have been at the diner for about 20 minutes now and she’s acting weird. I thought it was time to meet her parents, but her reaction has me worried.
Betty talks with us and picks on me a bit like she normally does, but Cali is staying unusually quiet. I look at her and wait for her dark brown eyes to meet mine.
I can’t believe the moon goddess blessed me with her. Her eyes glance up and meet mine and I smile softly and ask, “Are you okay, Cali?”
She nods and says, “I’m just nervous about meeting your mom and you meeting my parents.”
I smile, “Which would you rather do first? We’ll do whatever you want, babe.”
She sighs, “Could I meet your mom first? I think that’s going to be the harder meet up and I’d like to get over with.”
I can’t help but laugh and I ended up snorting at her comment. She has no idea how ecstatic my mom is to finally meet her.
Her nose scrunches up as she looks me up and down and I can tell she’s upset with me for laughing. Betty walks over and I pass her my card and look back at Cali who has now crossed her arms and looks like an upset toddler. I can’t help but smile at her and I say, “My mom is going to love you, Cali. You’ve got no worries. So, when do you want to meet her?”
She shrugs in response and says, “Anytime is fine.”
“How about tomorrow night?” I suggest. I notice her eyes get a little wide at the suggestion. Betty comes back and give me my card. I stand up from my seat and turn towards Cali and hold out my hand. She takes it and stands beside me and I ask, “What do you say?”
She nods in response and says, “Okay. Sounds like a plan.”
I take her back home and she gives me a kiss goodbye and I head straight back home. I know my mom is going to be so excited when I tell her that she finally gets to meet Cali. But we do have one issue… we have to make sure she doesn’t find out about werewolves yet.
I pull up to the packhouse and take a deep breath. I see Eric and Hugh sitting on the porch swings with their mates and they all wave at me. I think it was something in my demeanor that stopped them from asking me to join them.
I walk into the house and find my mom talking with the cook in the kitchen. I wave at the omega since my mom still hasn’t noticed my presence and the omega smiled and nodded towards me which made my mom finally notice my attention.
She exclaims, “Oh Titus! I didn’t expect you home so soon!”
She comes to me and gives me a kiss on the cheek and asks, “How was your day? Did you enjoy your time with Ms. Cali?”
I nod, “It was great, like always, mom. But I do have an announcement.”
I noticed that the room got deathly silent as everyone waited for the alpha to speak. I let out an uncomfortable chuckle and I look at my mom and said, “We decided it’s time to meet each other’s families. She is going to come here to meet you tomorrow.”
My mom’s jaw dropped quickly and she covered her mouth and then puts her hand on her heart and says, “Titus Hale, if you are joking I will have your head!”
I laugh, “I’m not joking.” I turn towards everyone else and announce, “Tomorrow your future Luna will be coming to visit for the first time. She is not aware that we are wolves, so I expect no one to shift unless it’s an emergency while she is here. And limited people will be allowed in the packhouse while she is here.”
I look towards her mom and I see her put her dirty blonde curly hair up into a ponytail and she says, “I want this place to look stunning! Clean up all the main areas!”
She walks back to the omega and looks back at me and asks, “Is she allergic to anything?”
I shake my head no and she smiles as she begins planning tomorrow’s dinner. I hear someone clearing their throat and I turn and see Eric, Olive, Hugh, and Britt standing in front of me.
Both of the girls have bright smiles on their face and Eric asks, “Alpha, do you need us to attend the dinner tonight?”
Eric and Hugh are like my brothers and I think having the girls here will help calm Cali’s nerves. I sigh, “Take it up with my mom.”
Olive and Britt look at one another and smile and Britt calls out as they walk to the kitchen, “Oh Luna Amy!”
I chuckle and shake my head and Hugh asks, “Are you nervous?”
I sigh, “I’m excited. We’re getting close to the point where I can reveal my true self. It’s nerve-racking, but hopefully she will accept me with no issues.”
They both nod in agreement and I hear the girls laughing and I turn towards them and shake my head as I watch them charm my mom. Hopefully, Cali will get along with my mom too.
