Titus
Spending time with Calliope is exactly what I needed to feel better about the whole Alexander ordeal. She definitely took me by surprise with her spicy burger and it made me wonder if her dad will prank me like that.
I know we have to move slow, but I look forward to when I can meet her parents.
I’m picking her up from her house to take her to school again and I patiently wait outside because she texted me earlier and told me she was running a little late. I’m hoping today there won’t be any drama with Alexander and Haley.
I watch as she runs out and she smiles at me and says, “Hey Titus!”
I hug her, and I take a deep breath when I do and once again no scent. I look towards her house and I can’t help but wonder what is going on there and how and why they’re hiding Cali’s scent.
She pulls away from me and I smile as I lead her to the car. We quickly get in and I drive towards the school and I ask, “Did your parents find out you skipped yesterday? Were they upset?”
“They didn’t care it was a mental health day for me.” She answers with a shrug of her shoulders.
My eyebrows crinkle together in confusion as I ask, “A what?”
She laughs, “A mental health day. I used to be homeschooled and when I started going to public school my parents said I could take two days off a semester if I felt like I needed it and I don’t have to give them a reason for it other than I needed it for my mental health day.”
I nod, “That’s interesting.”
She shrugs, “I like it. Although I don’t think I needed yesterday for my mental health. I think you needed it and I don’t regret using one of my days.”
We pull up to the school and once again walk into it hand in hand. This time Eric, Olive, Hugh, and Britt were all waiting for us at the entrance. Both Olive and Britt are grinning ear to ear at the sight of us walking in together.
As we walk towards them the girls both move away from the guys and each of them grab one of Cali’s arms and they run off together and I shake my head and look at the guys. I take one smell and notice their scents have slightly changed. My eyebrows furrow and I come close to them and pull their collars to the side and I see marks on each of their necks. I smirk, “Congratulations boys.”
They both grin and I look up and I see Alexander walking towards Cali’s way. I growl and rush over to her and put my arm around her and she looks up at me startled, but I see that Alexander walks away. I don’t know what his issue is, but he needs to back off before I kill him.
Cal
Britt and Olive took me away the moment I came to the entrance of the school. They both seem happier than normal. I’m not complaining it’s great to see them so happy it’s just a little odd. Olive says, “So, you and Titus look nice and comfortable together.”
I smile as we get to my locker and I open it up and say, “We’re happy. It’s a new relationship.”
Britt says, “I like him better.”
I chuckle, “You hardly know him, B.”
She rolls her eyes and crosses her arms, “I might not know him very well. But we learned a lot about Alexander, and we didn’t like him.”
I notice that Olive nudges Britt’s side and both of their eyes seem to glaze over. That’s been happening a lot lately, but I don’t know how to bring it up to them.
I close my locker and as I’m about to face the girls suddenly an arm wraps around me pulling me close. It startles me at first, but I quickly recognize Titus’ scent and I have to refrain from snuggling into him and breathing him in. I don’t know what kind of cologne he uses, but every time he’s near I have an overwhelming need to just smell him. It’s addicting.
He grabs the books out of my hands and smiles at me as he leads me towards my first class. I wish we had more classes together because right now we only have one and it’s not till the end of the day. We weren’t lucky like Eric and Olive are.
I walk into class feeling sad as Eric and Olive take their seats and my mind is blown when I see Titus sit next to me. He’s smirking as I ask, “What are you doing?”
He shrugs, “Sitting down for class.”
“You don’t have this class right now.” I state the obvious.
His smile grows, and he says, “I transferred my classes so our schedule would match up.”
I can’t help my jaw from dropping and he laughs at my reaction which quickly makes me blush. I turn away from him and I hear his laughter until the teacher comes in announcing us to be quiet. I peek a look at Titus and he shoots me a smile and I shake my head. Having him in class is going to be fun.
Britt
Getting marked makes my bond with Hugh so much stronger and I love it. When I saw Olive this morning and saw that she was marked too I couldn’t help but squeal. I love that we’re still apart of the same pack and we are going to be in each other’s lives forever and our kids will be friends!
Now, all we have to wait on is for when Titus will tell Cal that he’s a werewolf and they’re mates.
We’re waiting at the entrance of the school for them and I feel like bouncing with all of the energy and excitement I’m feeling. Everything in life is turning out right and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Hugh and being the Gamma female of the Crescent Moon pack. Titus and Cal walk towards us and Olive and I both pull Cal away from Titus as we both want to hear the details of what’s been going on with them.
As we stand by her locker and talk, I notice Alexander watching us or more specifically he’s watching her. He’s watching her like she is his prey.
I mind link with Olive and ask, “Do you see him?”
It takes a moment for her to respond and she says, “I do. I wonder why he won’t just leave her alone.”
I groan through the mind link and I say, “Here he comes.”
Before Alexander could make it over to us Titus comes up and wraps his arm around Cal and immediately Alexander turns the other way. What kind of game is he playing?
He knows that Cal is taken and that purposely going after someone else’s mate, especially an Alpha’s mate, is dangerous territory.
Eric, Olive, Titus, and Cal all head off to their class and Hugh’s hand grabs mine and he sees my concerned expression and says, “Are you okay, love? I can feel the concern rolling off you through our bond.”
I sigh, “We need to keep an eye on Alexander. I don’t have a good feeling and I can tell it has something to do with Cal.”
He kisses my head, and we start walking to our class as he says, “Don’t worry, love, Titus can tell something is up there and he’s going to keep her safe.”
I nod in understanding, but I feel an overwhelming urge to protect my best friend and future Luna. I will not let Alexander have the chance to break her again.
