Cal The way Alexander and Titus were acting towards one another really freaked me out. Olive leads me away from them and towards our class, but I can’t help this uneasy feeling I have. It’s impossible to focus while our teacher talks especially since Eric hasn’t come to class yet, so I assume that means he and Titus are still with Alexander. I hope they don’t get into a fight or something stupid. I notice that Olive seems to be stiff and then she stands up and walks to our teacher and talks to her quietly. Our teacher seems concerned, but nods and then says, “Cal, you need to go the principal’s office now.” My eyebrows furrow in confusion, but I nod as I follow Olive out of the room. She grabs my arm and leads me away and I ask, “What’s going on?” “The boys need us.” “How do you know?” “Eric texted me, now hurry up!” I never saw her pull out her phone during class so I am skeptical of her reasoning, but as soon as I see Titus on the ground I completely forget about her. I get on my knees in front of him and touch his arm and ask, “Are you okay?” He moves his arms away from his head and grabs me and pulls me into his chest and repositions me until he’s cradling me in his lap. He puts his face in my neck and takes deep breath and I play with his hair. I don’t know what’s wrong, but I’ll do anything to try and make him feel better. Olive stays standing and Eric is by her side and they whisper softly to one another. After a few minutes Titus lifts his head up and touches my face softly and looks into my eyes and asks, “Why didn’t you tell me Alexander was your ex?” I shrug, “I’ve seen you guys all talk a lot and I thought he was your friend, and I didn’t want to cause issues between you. I was trying to look out for you.” He scoffs and shakes his head, “We’re not friends, at all, his sister just keeps trying to get all over me and he’s been encouraging it.” I nod in understanding and he says, “Just to be clear, you are the only girl I’m interested in, Cali.” I smile softly, “I feel the same way, Titus.” He gives me a kiss and soon the bell rings. Olive says, “We’ll go get our schoolwork.” I nod and watch as she and Eric walk away hand in hand. Titus gets up and helps me stand and I see his eyes darken a little and I turn around to see him looking at Alexander who is smirking at us. I swear I heard Titus growl and I say, “Hey, do you want to get out of here?” He looks at me with a startled expression and asks with shock laced in his voice, “You want to skip school?” I shrug, “Only if you’re up to it.” He grins and nods and grabs my hand and we run out of the building. Titus When Cali suggested us leaving, I was shocked. But I don’t need to be here anyway, and I can get her out of any potential trouble that she could get into, so I am 100% up for a little adventure with her. We rush to my Jeep and I open the door and close it behind her before rushing to my side and driving away before she changes her mind. She has a-mile-wide smile stretched across her face and it makes me so happy to see her like this. I ask, “Where to?” She taps her chin as she thinks and then says, “I have the perfect place! Are you hungry?” I nod- honestly werewolves eat constantly especially ones that are high rank. It's something with our metabolism, it's like it's even faster for those of us who have strong blood running through them. She pulls out her phone and I notice she pouts and I ask, “What’s wrong?” “It’s almost dead and I don’t know the way to the restaurant without my maps.” I pull out my phone and pass it to her and say, “The passcode is 0909.” She looks at me in shock and I ask, “What?” “No-nothing, sorry, just… you trust me with your phone?” I shrug, “I have nothing to hide.” She smiles, “Alexander never let me touch his phone, he would practically scream at me if I was just grabbing it because he left it on the table and walked away.” I can hear Kane growl loudly in my head and I have to work hard not to let the growl slip through my lips. I say, “He sounds like a jerk, Cali. Why did you date him in the first place?” She shrugs, “He wasn’t always like that. We dated for a few years and in the beginning he was great and made me a priority and by the end of it…” She sighs sadly and says, “Honestly, he was using me for my body.” The thought of another man touching her makes me angry and I’m clenching the steering wheel so tight my knuckles turn white. She must’ve noticed because she says, “I understand if you don’t want to be with me. I’m not ‘pure’ but I mean it when I say this… the only reason I did anything with him is because I genuinely thought I was going to end up with him. He told me we were going to be together like that eventually so why not now?” She huffs and shakes her head, “If I could go back, I never would’ve done it. He manipulated me and ever since he broke up with me it’s been one of my biggest regrets.” I take a deep breath letting go of my anger and say, “Cali, I’m not going to leave you over that. Do I like the thought of you being with another guy? No, not at all. But that’s life and you mean too much to me for me to let that affect our relationship.” She smiles and seems relieved and says, “That being said… I’m not willing to do those things with you unless we end up getting married. I know that’s way far into the future, but I don’t ever want to disappoint you by denying you.” I grab her hand and kiss her knuckles and say, “That’s fine, Cali, you’re a girl worth waiting for.” The look she gives me makes me feel so much love. I want to tell her I love her, but I’m scared it will scare her off. She thinks I’m human- I have to treat this situation carefully as if it was a human relationship. I can’t tell her how I feel yet. No matter how much me and my wolf want to yell it out for the world to know.
