Titus I sent out the email to the Alpha King and Luna Queen. I feel a little bit of relief wave over me, but a part of me feels even more nervous for what they’re going to say… assuming that they ever respond to us. I walk downstairs where Eric is cleaning up all of the vomit and an omega has come to help him. I ask, “Where are the others?” He sighs, “Taking a shower. Where’d Cali go off to? If she comes home the girls will be so embarrassed because nothing is really done yet.” I wave my hand in dismissal and say, “Don’t worry about her. She and Rose went shopping at the mall for outfits tonight.” “Wow, you let Cali go off by herself? Impressive.” I roll my eyes at his comment. I’m trying to loosen the reins with Cali, but it is difficult. I get the urge to mind link her and see how she’s doing, but I decide against it. I ask, “What do you need help with, man?” He rubs his head and I can see the exhaustion evident on his face. My face softens and I say, “How about you go rest with your mate and I’ll get everything done.” “No, no, the girls wanted to do this for-” I interrupt him, “For Cali, but it’s a celebration for your girls as well. Please, go rest, and I’ll take care of the rest.” He realizes he’s not going to beat me in this conversation so he nods as he gives up and walks away. My mom walks down the stairs and passes Eric and then she sees me, but her nose crinkles up when the smell of vomit and chemicals hits her. I say, “Let’s talk outside.” She nods eagerly as we rush out the front door. She takes a deep breath of the fresh air and asks, “Why did it smell so bad in there?” “Honestly? You can’t tell anyone.” “You can trust me, son.” “Olive and Britt are both pregnant… Britt with twins. One threw up and then the other did, then Hugh slipped in the vomit and he threw up.” My mom crinkles her nose in disgust and then sighs, “Those poor girls. I was fortunate with you and I never had any morning sickness. But just think, that could be you and Cali soon.” I nod with a small smile and ask, “Could I ask you a favor?” “Of course, my love.” “The girls were planning a party for tonight and didn’t want Cali involved in the process, but now the girls are both struggling because of their pregnancies…” “You want me to take over party planning?” I nod with a smile and she nods, “I can do that, son, but could you see if Danica would join me? I enjoy being around her.” I nod, “Of course, mom.” I rush to go find Danica and once I know she’s helping my mom I go to my office. As soon as I take a seat I feel a push against my head showing me that a pack member is trying to speak with me. I open the link and immediately hear a frantic Rose: Alpha! Someone has taken Cali! My blood runs cold at her words. I ask: Where are you? On my way back to the pack. I’m so sorry, Alpha. Come to my office, immediately! Yes Alpha! I attempt to form a link with Cali, but it doesn’t work. I hear Kane whimper loudly and I ask: Do you know what’s happening, Kane? No… I can’t even try to make a connection… I don’t think she is conscious. I huff and nod and I link Eric and Hugh: I know you boys are busy with your mates, but I need you to come to my office immediately. Don’t bring the girls- it will cause unnecessary stress. Both respond back instantly: Yes Alpha. Cal I moan as I begin to wake up. My head is pounding, and everything seems kind of cloudy. I try to open my eyes and sit up, but immediately someone gently pushes my shoulders back for me to lay down. I hear a voice say, “Cal, you don’t want to get up right now. Stay laying down.” My eyelids flutter and I see Alexander sitting in front of me. My eyebrows furrow and I ask, “What’s going on?” He groans in frustration and he says, “I promise you, I had nothing to do with this.” “What are you talking about?” I go to move, but when I do I hear jingling. I look down and see my wrists have chains on them. I look at Alexander angrily and ask in a stern voice, “What is going on?” I hear a cheerful voice speak, “She’s woken up!” I look at the doorway and see Alexander’s mother, Anne. I smile at her and say, “Hi, Mrs. Anne, could you explain to me what’s going on?” She smiles as she looks between me and Alexander and she says to him, “We’ll get this all fixed up, son.” He growls out, “I don’t want this to be fixed. Let her go! She belongs to another.” I hear a man’s voice ring out and my eyes flicker to the door where Alexander’s dad, Paul, stands. He says, “She belongs to you. Now, complete the process.” Alexander growls, “Why won’t you listen to me?” “I did, you missed Cal and we got her back. Now, all you have to do is mark and mate her and she’ll be yours forever.” I look towards Alexander, panicked, but he doesn’t look away from his father. His dad shrugs as he takes his wife’s hand and says, “The two of you will stay here until the process is completed. I’ll have someone bring you dinner later.” Alexander stands and tries to rush to the door, but I hear jingling from him and see there is a chain wrapped around his ankle. My eyebrows furrow and I pout as I try to process everything. I hear Alexander’s voice laced with sincerity, “I’m so sorry, Calliope.”
