Patrick stared into Scarlett’s eyes, unsure if her ignorance of his implied meaning was genuine or feigned. “Scarlett, haven’t you always been against divorcing me? Now that you have such a good opportunity, you really don’t want it?”
Scarlett was fully aware of Patrick’s insinuation. He was trying to use the divorce as leverage, forcing her to reveal her nightlife job so he could control her. Thinking this, she kept her face impassive. “Patrick, I didn’t want a divorce before.”
