Chapter 10

"How is Louise?"

"She is fine, but her granny is not. Need assistance. That's why she can't be back for the meantime." Laura sips her Frappuccino while looking at the outside. "I can relax now. Now that I know that Louise is safe."

"I told you. Louise might be very busy this past few days; that's why she almost forgot to get in touch with you." Kurt pinch Laura's hand to make her at ease even more.

People around them started gossiping around them. Some envied her. Some thought they were absolutely a perfect couple. Hearing that to others makes Laura's heart race. She couldn't imagine that being a girlfriend of The Ion's band's vocalists made her a really tough job. Recently, she even received calls from unknown individuals asking for help. They want a setup for them to meet the Ion band up close. She even received messages for their supporters, but some are hatreds, including death threats.

"By the way, are you free this coming weekend?" Kurt asked.

"Yeah. Why?"

"We are having our concert. Mind if I invite you?"

Her heart keeps on pounding, hearing that Kurt wanted her to be at their concert.

Is he going to introduce me in public?

Laura's thoughts went to outer space. She can't take it anymore. She thinks she is about to explode when Kurt snaps his fingers right in front of her face.

"Y-yes. I am always glad to be at your concert. It's one of my priorities." She quickly covered her lips because of awkwardness. She doesn't want to spill it off. She was bashful of what Kurt might think of her, but that quickly faded when Kurt leaned towards her and made their forehead contiguous.

"I am glad, Laura. I really am. Thank you!" Kurt then turns into her forehead and quickly puts a kiss on it.

Laura couldn't imagine how lucky she was. Being the only girl beside the Ion band. Now that she thought that Louise was safe, she knew then that she has a lot of time to go their concert. The fact that she has now less worries. All she thought about is her future with the band and how things will work well in her relationship with Kurt.

"By the way, I'll be busy the following days. Riley will be in charge of assisting you in case you have something you need?"

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"I mean if someone bothers you out of nowhere just because they wanted to take revenge against us. Don't listen about the rumors. They are just using those to ruin our reputation."

He was right. She already heard rumors regarding how they kidnapped girls and then they suddenly disappear. She couldn't believe that those kind of rumors exists not until she began very close with the band. Those death threats that she received are somehow from random strangers looking forward for some kind of justice that she thought wasn't real at all.

"Are they after for something?" she asked again.

"Fame. That's what they all want. That rumors came from our opposing band," he explained. "All they do was dirty tactics to have what we have right now."

"Okay. I get it now. Thank you for informing me ahead of time."

Minutes later Riley came up with a wide smile.

"Hey! I already heard about the news. I'm glad that Louise was fine."

"Yeah. I'm also felt relieved now."

"Same here. By the way, where is she now."

"On her granny's place. It's far from here and there are bad signal there that's why she was unable to communicate those past few days."

"For sure. Anyway, did Kurt already told you the setup?"

"About you accompanying me?"

"Yes. It's an honor to be with you, Laura." Riley smiled at her and she felt that something was off about his smile. It seems like it has something that she didn't know. Or maybe she was just imagining things?

"Thank you."

Kurt looked at his watch. "I think I should go. I have a practiced today for the upcoming concert."

"Can't we go with you?"

"Sorry, but our manager was so strict in terms of practice. They don't want anyone except those needed."

Laura felt heavy. "Okay. I understand."

"Shall we go?" Riley asked Laura.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"We are making a makeover for you." Riley pulled Laura's hand as they both waved goodbyes and part ways with Kurt.

Meanwhile, at the dress shop.

"What do you think about this one?" Laura showed Riley the dress that she fitted if it suits her style.

Riley looked at her from her foot upwards and shrugged.

"I think, this one was way better."

Riley stands up and picked a nice long black fitted tube dress on the rack.

Laura widened her eyes as she was the beautiful evening dress.

"I think that doesn't suits me at all."

"Why don't you try it first?"

Laura was uncomfortable about the dress but she has no choice. Riley explained to her that they will be going to have an appearance later that night for a party gathering of those well known celebrities and individual and whether she likes it or not, she was invited to be there as Kurt's partner.

Laura just leave a sigh and went straight to the fitting room. She was zipping the dress at the back but she can't reach it that's why she asked for someones help.

"Riley, is there a sales lady nearby?"

Riley looked at the surroundings but it seems that the sales ladies were way too busy assisting other customers.

"They're busy. Why?"

"I can't the reach the zipper."

Seconds later, while Laura was busy looking at the dress. She suddenly chilled when she felt someone's hand on her back. To her surprised it was Riley standing at her back and holding onto her shoulders staring at her seriously at the mirror.

"You are so beautiful, Laura."

She felt uneasy. It was so unusual for Riley to be serious and not on that manner.

"I am becoming more and more wanting you."

She was stunned at the moment until her phone began to ring.
