Chapter 5

On the following day, everyone decided to enjoy the white sand beach while the sun shone brightly up in the sky. Laura quickly ran into the water as soon as she saw Kurt standing there. She quickly rushed into Kurt and grabbed onto his arms. "How was your sleep last night?" she asked. "Much better when you're right beside me." Laura's face turns red as what she has heard from Kurt. She thought that everything was not a dream anymore. Every moment that they are spending together is for real. But happiness quickly fades from the negative thoughts that ran into her mind. What if he didn't like me at all? What if he was just toying me? What if we are not destined to be together? That didn't pass on Kurt's eyes. He quickly held Laura's hand and touched her cheeks afterward. "Is there anything wrong?" He was concerned about what Laura thought. "Are you really into me?" she asked. She looked at their fingers intertwined together. The truth that she can't let go of that hand makes her feel broken. "Silly." Kurt smiled at her and grabbed her into his arms. "You know what I like about you?" "What?" She could smell the fragrance from his perfume as she laid her head upon his chest. "You do whatever your heart wants. You tell what your mind speaks. You are so silly of the thoughts that didn't bother me once, and I can see how you shine bright among other girls. Your fighting spirit says it all." With that words, Laura can't hide how she really felt. She quickly distanced herself from Kurt that made Kurt into confusion. "I really hate you, Kurt!" she burst out into tears. "What?" "I really hate how you flatter my heart so quickly," and with that, she quickly put her lips into his while her arms clang into his nape. "I love you so much, Kurt." Kurt couldn't hide how he was overjoyed with the truth that nothing could take Laura apart from him. He has already gained all of Laura's trust and will continue to let her know that he will always be there for her no matter what happens. "Well, the feeling is mutual, Laura." He pinned her more onto his body as they shared the kiss that would drown Laura into her nightmare. +++ "Why is Louise was taking so long?" Sam asked. "Maybe I should check her into her room. Just wait for me here." "Okay." Laura was about to leave to go back inside the house when Kurt held her right arm. "Wait! I'm coming with you," he said. "Don't take too long, lovey-dovey. We still have an appointment to settle in the afternoon." George looked at his watch and noted the time, "it's already 8." Laura and Kurt just nodded and quickly went to Louise's room, but they were shocked as they opened the door. Laura noticed that the bed was neat and properly arranged. The room is spotless; no trace of someone sleeping there overnight. "Louise?" Laura went into the bathroom, but she wasn't there. "She is not here." She started to feel unease and panic. "I will look for her in the kitchen. Maybe she just got some drinks and snacks." "Okay." When Kurt leaves, Laura goes to Riley's room, and no trace of Louise there too. She was about to leave his room when she felt something stick on her shoes. She quickly looked at it and found her best friend's one-piece earring. Laura left the room immediately and quickly went to Rileys. Riley was dumbfounded when Laura confronted him. "Where is Louise?" she asked him furiously. "Hey! Why are you looking her from me?" Riley's right brow raised on what Laura behaved. "Are you accusing me of something?" "I found her earring into your room, and she was nowhere to be found." "Oh, come on, Laura. Maybe she dropped it into my room the other night we spent our time together. I have no idea where she is by now. Last night, I also accompanied her back to her room, for she said that she is feeling unwell." "Then, why didn't you tell me that she was not feeling well." "Are you questioning me? Are you the best friend, right? I thought you already knew, so why would I bother to tell you again?" "Hey! Hey! Stop that." Sam moved in front of them to meddle. "Stop arguing, okay. Better to do is call her. Maybe she has her deep explanation of where she was right now." Laura quickly grabbed her phone from her bag and made a call, but it was out of reach. Laura was so worried that she wanted to flip the house just to find any clues where her best friend was. "Laura." Kurt rushed into Laura and started comforting her. "She's nowhere to be found here." "Maybe, she left early because of an emergency," Clint said. "Then why didn't she inform me instead?" "Laura, Louise was not a kid anymore. Don't look after her moves all the time. She was mature enough to handle and took care of herself without you." Riley smirked and showed no concern at all. And that hit her hard. Laura slaps Riley that making them both furious. "WHAT THE HELL?" "Why aren't you worried about her? You know how much effort she showed you just to express her feelings towards you, and yet you acted now as if you didn't care at all. What kind of a boyfriend you are to her?" "Did she say that we are couples?" Laura was frozen with the truth that her best friend and Riley are not really couples. But the thought that Riley would go after Louise as Kurt returned her feeling towards him was just a mistake. "See?" Riley shooked his head before putting their conversations to an end. "I am worried about her. More than anyone else, she was the only one who showed me so much effort. But the feelings I have for her will not be enough to call it love. On the other hand, think whatever you want about me; I will still try all my best to find her because she has been once so precious to me."
