Chapter 19

214 Words
"Shane, your friend is--" "No worries. I'll take care of the rest here. Thank you so much for your help." "Anytime, as long as you need me." Shane's friend walks through the door then leaves the house. Suddenly, Shane doesn't know what to do just now. She just stared at her bed where someone she least wanted to help was lying in there. It has been three months. Shane couldn't believe her eyes that fate would let them meet again. Who would have thought that she would waste her time helping her? Shane walked towards her and looked at her without a word. She can see her scars and mark of burns. Her face was different from the last time she saw her. Shane was about to leave when suddenly the girl managed a word. "Why?" "At last, you speak," Shane said. She faced her and waited for her response. "Why are you helping me?" "The truth is I cannot answer that question too since I don't want to help you. You were bothersome for me." Shane sighs and crosses her arms. "But looking at you now, you look so miserable. You are so pitiful. I can't help but see myself in you when I was in the same situation as you are now."
