As soon as Chris left, Justin led me towards the celebrations.
We walked together, in silence for a few minutes before he finally broke the ice.
"Valerie," He said.
He stopped in his tracks and I felt his grip on my hand tighten a bit - almost like he was scared that if he let go of me, I would disappear. No one, not even the triplets who were supposed to be my mates made me feel that way.
"You don't have to settle for less, you know?"
I stared into his dark grey eyes.
"How?" I asked. "The moon goddess has sealed my fate, Justin."
"Then why could I pick out your scent so well?" He groaned.
"I - I don't know," I stuttered. "But I have a mate already. This would be wrong."
