KYLE As I stared into the darkness, my eyes caught the movement. It was coming towards us. I steadied myself, ready for it's attack and suddenly, it became still. My pulse quickened as I tightened my grip on the flashlight, aiming its beam straight ahead. The faint light barely illuminated the space beyond a few trees, but I could still see those glowing eyes staring back at me. “Who is there?” I called again, my voice echoing in the eerie stillness. No answer. “I can see you,” I added, forcing more authority into my tone. “Show yourself.” The eyes blinked once—slow and deliberate—before the figure turned and bolted. It moved with unnatural speed, vanishing into the darkness so fast that it felt like a ghost slipping through my fingers. Without a second thought, I took off after it.
