VALERIE
The first thing that came to my mind was to run.
I was barely a few blocks away from the Storm mansion and if I could get there in time, I would be safe.
"Valerie," The whisper sounded really close this time and I turned in the direction of it.
I gasped in horror at the sight of the figure standing right in front of me - a lady, veiled from head to toe with a black cloth. I could see her eyes through the transparent veil that covered her face. They were pitch white and scary.
The words floated through the wind and into my ears: "This is not your place, Valerie."
And just like that, she disintegrated into dust, and disappeared into the night.
Or was I hallucinating?
Without waiting another second, I turned on my heels and sprinted all the way home.
