KYLE I sat in my room, leaning back against the cool surface of the window, and staring out into the garden. The sun was setting, casting long shadows over the grounds, and the air was thick with the scent of fresh flowers and damp earth. Evans and Valerie were walking slowly along the stone path, their voices barely audible from here.
