Kelly got up at the first sound of the alarm clock. Since the breakup, she has made it an habit of saying a short morning prayer before getting out of bed. She isn't even a religious person but for obvious reasons, she found herself churning out silent prayers every morning.
Just like yesterday and every other day before the breakup, she got to work very early. Xavier was already in though, but not cooking. He seemed really engrossed with whatever he was doing on his computer as he didn't even notice someone had entered the restaurant until Kelly knocked on his door and entered. He was probably that relaxed because of the security personnel at the gate. Who wouldn't? Those guys look huge and strong enough to combat any threat.
