Lily sat in her room, the soft glow of her computer screen casting shadows across her face as she stared at the blinking cursor on the screen. Her mind was a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts and emotions, each one pulling her in a different direction.
Lily continues her monologue "Ethan did seem a very genuine and trustworthy guy but nobody can be trusted. Considering my past, i have never crossed path with a boy knowing that they cannot be trusted. i know i am too sensitive for every little thing which i know wouldn't turn out good for me in future."
The world seemed cruel and unforgiving, a place where trust was a rare commodity and betrayal lurked around every corner. Lily couldn't shake the feeling that no one could be trusted easily, not even someone as kind and genuine as Ethan.
She knew that taking a chance on her friendship with Ethan could lead to something beautiful, something real. But as she contemplated the idea of meeting him in person, a sense of unease settled in the pit of her stomach.
She had been hurt before, betrayed by those she had trusted most, and the scars from those experiences ran deep. The thought of letting someone new into her life, of opening herself up to the possibility of getting hurt again, filled her with a sense of dread.
"i know following this heart only ruins people's life. Heart never foresees about the circumstances that might arise in future but mind does. it is just illogical to follow my heart, this will only hurt me at the end of the day.So my decision is fair and final, no second thoughts anymore. "
With a heavy heart, Lily made a decision. She couldn't afford to follow her heart, couldn't risk getting hurt again. She knew that she was too sensitive, too vulnerable to withstand the pain of rejection.
And so, with trembling fingers, Lily composed a message to Ethan, her words measured and careful."Hey ethan, you seem a great guy but my insecurities wouldn't allow me to take this friendship to a new level,I hope you come across better people in future who are not bounded with insecurities and fear.I really enjoyed your company so far in the game but i assume this would be the end of our short but memorable time"
She explained that she wasn't ready to
take their friendship to the next level, that she couldn't risk getting attached to him only to have her heart broken in the end.
It was a difficult decision, one that weighed heavily on her heart, but Lily knew that it was the right one. She couldn't afford to take the risk, couldn't afford to let her emotions cloud her judgment.
As she hit send, a sense of sadness washed over her, followed by a wave of relief. She knew that she was protecting herself, guarding her heart against the pain of potential heartbreak.
But even as she made her decision, a small part of her couldn't help but wonder what could have been. What if she had taken a chance on Ethan? What if she had followed her heart instead of her head?
But deep down, Lily knew that she had made the right choice. She couldn't afford to let her emotions run wild, couldn't afford to let herself get hurt again.
And so, with a heavy heart but a clear mind, Lily resigned herself to the decision she had made. She knew that it was for the best, that she was protecting herself from potential pain and heartache.
As she closed her laptop and settled into bed, Lily couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness, a longing for what could have been. But she knew that she had made the right choice, and for now, that was enough.
How would ethan react to this? would he be decide to back off or take a second chance ?
