“Choose who chooses you. Not who chooses to use you. There’s a big difference.” --- ~ Elizabeth ~ “Please tell me this isn’t true…” That singular statement kept ringing in my head as I made my way home later that day. The streets were silent. I passed a coffee shop and felt the urge to grab a croissant and a glass of caramel latte, but I held back, remembering our current financial situation. Funny how I never really had to worry much about money... until now. It truly takes just one day for your entire life—and perspective—to change. I understood that now. I unlocked the door and stepped into the silence of the house. I was almost used to it by now. Begrudgingly, I dragged my tired body upstairs to freshen up, then came back down for dinner.
