“Start before you are ready.” *** ~ Elizabeth I woke up the next morning with a smile clinging to my lips like a secret I didn’t want to let go of. The first thing I did was glance at the wall clock—it was 8am. Way too early for someone who’d gone to bed at 2 a.m., but somehow, my body didn’t feel the weight of the lost hours. I stretched slowly, still half-blanketed in the warmth of last night’s conversation. Gosh. I still couldn’t believe Patrick and I had chatted for over two hours. Like, seriously—two whole hours. And not once did it feel awkward or forced. The words just flowed, dancing between us like old friends catching up after years apart. At some point, I forgot we were strangers. It felt... safe. Easy. “Liz, you’re up?” My mom’s voice pulled me gently back to the present.
