The door opened without an invitation. Cheryl entered with Dan. A smile was traced on Dan’s lips when he noticed Eric’s bare chest. Eric threw a reprimanding look at Dan. “It’s not what it looks like,” he said, embarrassed. “It does smell like it,” Cheryl deeply inhaled and smiled, “the scent of body fluids and shame.” She walked around the room. “Savannah, darling. I suppose you have a good explanation for this. It is unlike you to mark a human.” “Get that smug off your face. It doesn’t mean anything. The Elder caught me drunk in the woods, and he happened to be there. She said that I either kept him as a companion or she’d kill him.” Savannah shouted from the bathroom. “You could have let him die.” Cheryl replied, tilting her head toward the bathroom to perceive Savannah’s reaction.
