Aled was looking at the view out of his window. He was shocked that he had such a beautiful view right outside of his office. Because he never really looked at the view. But what shocked him, even more, was that he was actually looking out of his window to a view and enjoying the periwinkle sky and the birds flying and the horizon where the divine up met the mortal down...What is happening to me? He thought. Because he never looked at the view. He didn't recall at all, not even once. Is it the influence of the strange lady I met in the interview session? He asked himself. "Alright, that's it, I need to see myself.", he murmured and went to the restroom. He looked at the mirror. "Aled, Aled, what are you doing? This is not you. You don't get a crush like other humans. You don't get emotional. It's you, Aled. Deep breath. It's just a person. She will be an employee and work under your command. She is just a poor worker like the hundred others in your company. Just trying to earn enough to survive. Just a very normal, weak, seeking for mercy human who will live if people like you provide them work opportunities so kindly!", Aled breathed deep, "Great, it's working. See? It's okay. There is nothing abnormal. No one or nothing can disturb your mind, your life, right Aled? Yes, it is right.", Aled found the man in the mirror smiling and felt very good. He starting singing, "I'm the master of my sea, oh-ooh"...he always liked the imagine Dragons but 'Believer' was his most favorite. Aled looked at the screen and he felt like himself again.
After half an hour a name in the client's list caught his eye. Jesse Brown! Jesse...Jessie...Jassie...Jazie, Oh No! Again! Jazie, her name was Jazie. Jazie, like the Jasmine. Aled's concentration shuttered into million fragments in a moment. It felt like a big bang to him. Aled tried to remember what was the color of Jassie's eyes. Was it brown? Is that why he is seeing Jesse Brown? But he couldn't remember her eye color. Okay, what was her hair like? He asked himself. He couldn't remember that either. What about her dress? Can I remember what she was wearing? Come on Aled, you must remember something. He teased himself. No? Anything? No? What then? What are you so into her about? He was shouting at himself in his head. He didn't like that he was spending his minutes for an unknown person in such a strange way. He forced his attention back to work.
"Sir, Mr. Justin is here", Olivia half entered the room, waiting for Aled's permission for sending Mr. Justin in. But Aled looked lost in some far-fetched thoughts. Olivia got confused. She never saw him be like this, that indifferent gaze in his eyes. "Sir", she added a little volume to her voice.
"Yes!", he sounded like waking up from a dream, "Yes, yes, what is it?", he said in a hurry.
"Sir. Mr. Justin. Is. Here.", Olivia paused between every two words and clearly pronounced each letter.
"Yes, yes, of course, Mr. Justin, send him in, of course, yes, that's obvious...", Aled suddenly realized he spoke more words than it was necessary and he felt very embarrassed about it. He decided he would undo it by adding some decent words, "I mean of course he supposed to meet me now, which you and I both know, so why not, right? Right, Olive? Yes, right..", Aled realized again that he made another mistake by deciding to undo his stupidity with some more stupid words. There was something surely wrong with his verbal communication system and he should not speak now. He opened his mouth and closed it. Olivia gave him a very taunting look and sighed deeply. She almost shook her head in a "you poor thing" manner but didn't. She closed the door and walked away.
Mr. Justin entered after a few minutes and Aled smiled at him. Justin was one of the richest businessmen, from the same wealthy community in which Aled belonged. They were business partners as well, so they both needed to design, plan, discuss many projects. Aled tried his best to force his usual professional smile and shook his hand. Justin smiled back while shaking his hand and said, "Well, then, Aled", his smile broadened.
"Well, Mr. Jassie", said Aled autonomously just to realize he made a silly mistake!
"Whoa, is that my new name? Is it like a partner buddy thing? I am not too old to get a buddy nickname, am I?", asked Justin in a jolly voice.
"Of course not", said Aled, trying to hide his relief of getting saved from a real embarrassment. "Let's talk business, Aled sat down and pushed the laptop slightly towards Justin so that he can have a better look.
Dear Lord, what am I going to do? Aled cried in his head.
