Expectations

Its amazing how quickly your mood can change. How deep your heart can sink and how much one person can affect you. _ _______________________ Everyone looks back at me. A female, dressed in black. Covered in blood. I never thought this was how I was would meet my mate. But hey, it makes for a good story to tell in the future. I don't make a move. I just stand there gazing at him. He looks aghast at the discovery, as if he wasn't expecting a mate. It's a confusing situation. On one hand I want to run to him, and jump on him and kiss him, but on the other hand I know that my actions could turn on me in a heartbeat. A female, with no scent chartered into another wolf's territory, and no one discovered her presence. If I make one wrong move I could be attacked. So I release a soft whining sound from the back of my throat, saying I mean no harm. "Don't make a step." My mate commanded. He meant everyone, I know that because he used his alpha voice. It doesn't affect me, but I don't want him to think I was being disrespectful, so I quietly waited for him to come to me. My heart raced at the anticipation of him coming near. I had to clench my fist to calm my nerves. I've never acted this way before, and it scares me. His footsteps were the only noise in the spacious field. The crunching of grass underneath his shoes stopped, and he now stands in front of me. "Look at me." His deep voice reverberates and as it flows through my ears, it resembles a dark sinful melody. I'd be damned if I said I hated it. When our gazes connect, my eyes greedily soak in every detail of his face. He has forest green eyes with splashes of brown swimming in them, the type of eyes you could get lost staring in. His jawline is sharp and chiseled, with a 5 o clock shadow neatly trimmed resting upon it. Next my eyes move to his hair, it's a deep jet black. He has a shadow fade, short at the back while full and curly at the top. My fingers itch to run my hands through it but I restrain myself. Even though we're mates, I know nothing about him, making us strangers. After I finish examining him I only then realize that he is doing the same to me. Not like he can see much though. Just my peculiar red eyes and my lips. I lick them unconsciously and feel stunned as the look in his eyes turn predatory. I clear my throat to get his attention. That breaks him out of his trance. "Follow me." I nod my head. That wasn't a question. He was telling me to. Though I don't like being ordered around, I can tell by his posture that he has something to discuss with me. And it's not a topic he wants the pack members to hear. As we walk through the crowd, everyone stares at me. And it's not very welcoming. It's- as though they're afraid for me. Pity in most of they're eyes. What the hell is going on? Someone elaborate because I'm lost. "Tsilla, you there. What do you think about all of this. I have a feeling that something's not right." I can sense it too pup. I asked the shadows to go and look in on it, but they haven't come back with any news. Guess we'll have to wait until I receive an answer. Though, something tells me that it has to do with our mate. "Wow, how comforting of you." If I lied you would know. She says deadpanned. "Touché"
