CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR. Without responding, I head to a corner to sit, leaning my back against the wall. I need a minute to myself without having to think about King Sven and the unnameable feeling stirring within me, one that I can't even blame on the mate bond that's practically useless. A minute without having to think that I have taken the life of two people and might be taking even more just to get freedom. King Sven clears his throat as he moves towards me, but I don't look at him as my gaze fixes to the floor. My eyes hurt and I can barely even see through them. “Am I being ignored?” He asks. I don't answer. “Or did you manage to lose your voice during the match? Your hearing perhaps?” He says teasingly, as though we're joking amongst ourselves. “Did the Lycan punch you too hard?”
