Maria POV "What the hell are you trying to do?" Micheal voice stung my ears. His thunderous voice made me shiver. He stamped his foot on the concrete floor as he stood by the door. I stood quietly in front of him, lost of words and with a cold feet. My heart raced with tensions as I held my box tightly. "Are you trying to run away?" He asked with a venomous tone. "N-no... I.. I..." I stammered. "Shut up and stop with the lies." Micheal yelled, staring at me with his cold blooded eyes that were begining to turn red. "I was only trying to move my clothes so I can clean up the cupboard of cobwebs." I said with a trembling voice but my tone was betraying my speech. Micheal could sense the lies in my words. "What sort of lies is this, Maria?" Said Micheal walking towards me. "You better not try..." He spoke with anger before my mom walked in cutting him off. "... Micheal, you need to take things easy with Maria." She said walking in with some clothes in her hands. "I asked her to help me with the laundry." She added, winking at me. I smiled internally, feeling relieved after seeing my mom covered for me. She has always been supportive of me whenever I am in trouble. "Then why is she holding her packbag?" Micheal asked with a curious voice. "What sort of question is that." I asked confidently. That was the first time I have ever answered my step dad in such manner. The presence of my mom gave me some sort of confidence and I could feel myself relishing my energy. "Like I said, I am only trying to clear my cupboard so I can clean it of any cobwebs." I added, dropping my box and making an akimbo posture. Micheal's eyes widened with surprise at my confidence. He tried to speak but my mom quickly held my hand and took me out of the room. "Let's go, Maria. Come help me with the laundry." She said as we walk out of the room leaving Micheal standing alone in the room. "Thank you mom," I said to her with a cheerful smile. She winked at me and smiled back. "Help me with the dinner, dear." That's all she said as we walked down the floor to the living room. I knew Micheal didn't believe a word I say but hey, f*ck him. I don't give a damn about him or what he thinks about me. I helped my mom in the kitchen prepare some pasta and baked bread. Yet, my heart was still locked with my plans of running away but time isn't by my side. My mom noticed the reluctant attitude from me. "Are you okay?" She asked with a curious tone, aching her eyebrows. I smiled and answered, "Yes. I am okay." I helped her set the dinning table, placing the plates and cups on the white sheet on the table. Micheal walked down the dining table and sat down waiting to be served. My mom brought in the pasta and baked potato bread. The aroma filled the air, hitting my nose like never before. Then, it occur to me that I have to take my chance now to run away while they are busy with their dinner. I stood up and walked into my room, locking the door to be sure no one could enter. I quickly took out my box from beneath my bed. I took it and dragged it over to my window that was rightly position at the backyard. It was a perfect exit route. I gently dropped off my box of the window while I climbed it before dropping down. I landed on my feet and hands before dusting them off. But there was no efficient light to make me see my path. I walked gently while dragging my box behind me quietly. And just as I was about to sneakily avoid the dining window that was directly facing the gate, my box bumped into a sleeping puppy. It then began to howl. "Ssh... Ssh." Is all I could do to keep the puppy in control. The noise alarmed my stepdad who easily spotted me from the window. "Is that not..." He stared attentively into the window. "Maria. She is running away." He screamed, standing up from his seat with a speedy movement. "s**t, I have to run." I said, dragging my box behind me as I hurriedly jog through the balcony. My eyes met with the guard who was sitting by the gate. But I don't have time to convince him. I quickly dash of the gate and straight into the forest with the hope of finding a route to the main road. But I wasn't alone in the forest. Some pack of wolves began to chase me. I ran as fast as I could. I felt something broke but I didn't bother to check as trying to save myself is the most important thing now. I am almost getting to the main road where I could easily escape. I turn to see how many of the wolves were chasing after me, turning to face my front, I hit a branch of tree that hung half broken from the oak tree. The wolves began to change their forms into humans. "Damn it, she is too fast." A loud thick voice echoed through my ears. My eyes were blurry, I couldn't see his face clearly as I lay half dead on the rusty leafs. "Yeah, too fast for an Omega. But we were faster." Said another who was standing right in face. I could see his d**k staring at me. "What's your name?" He asked. I laid horribly on the floor, staring at them. My head hurts as much as I could feel it. I couldn't answer them. "Can you not hear me?" He yelled loudly into my ears. I tried to sit up but I felt a sharp pain ran through my spine. I think I have broke my spine. One of the men helped me to sit before he finally spoke. He must be their leader. "Look here, we will take you with us and get you prepared for the Omega feast." "Yeah, she will do. She is so beautiful and would fetch a lot of money for us." The dickhead who yelled at me said with a cunning voice. "No, be good and cooperate. And I promise you no harm will befall you." The bulky guy said, offering his hand to me. I looked at him and then his strong hard hand. "Is that threat?" What if I don't want to go?" I asked, my voice cracked as I spoke. "Then, you will be in for it. Something terrible will befall you which I am sure you wouldn't want to witness it." He blurted out with his thick bold voice. "Now, come on." He added, trying to lift me up.
