Mrs. Susan stepped out of the car, her eyes fixed on the mansion. Stephanie followed, her heart pounding in her chest. They approached the entrance, where they were greeted by a stern-faced butler who escorted them to Liam's study.
Liam looked up from his desk, a hint of surprise on his face. "And who might you be?" he said, his voice smooth and calculated.
“I am Mrs Roberts and this is my niece Stephanie, I hope for your sake you remember her”. She said offering a stern and aggressive look.
"What brings you here today?" he said again in a calm and gentler tone.
Mrs. Susan's eyes blazed with anger, her voice firm and commanding. "We're here to talk about Stephanie's pregnancy, Liam. And we're not leaving until you acknowledge your responsibility and make things right."
The air was thick with tension as the three of them faced off, the weight of the situation hanging precariously in the balance.
Liam's expression shifted from surprise to one of guarded disbelief. He leaned back in his chair, his brow furrowed as he processed Mrs. Susan's words. "Pregnancy?" he echoed, his voice laced with a hint of skepticism. "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about."
Mrs. Susan's eyes narrowed, her lips pressed into a thin line. "Don't play dumb with me, Liam Dominick," she spat, her voice dripping with contempt. "Stephanie is carrying your child, and you're going to take responsibility for it.
Stephanie stepped forward, her hands trembling slightly. "Liam, please," she pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know this is a shock, but I need you to understand. I'm pregnant, and you're the father. We have to figure this out."
Liam's gaze shifted between the two women, his expression unreadable. The silence in the room was deafening, the tension palpable.
After a long, agonizing moment, Liam shook his head, his lips curling into a sardonic smile. "I'm afraid there must be some mistake," he said, his voice calm and collected. "I don't recall any such... encounter with you, Stephanie. And I certainly don't have any plans to have a child."
Mrs. Susan's face flushed with rage, her hands clenching into fists at her sides. "How dare you!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the room. "You're going to stand there and deny your own child?" if you continue to deny your seed, you can get ready to face the media with a believable story I personally won’t mind dragging your petty reputation through the mud."
Liam raised a hand, his expression hardening. "Now, now, Mrs. Roberts," he said, his tone condescending. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves. If Stephanie is indeed pregnant, then we can certainly discuss the matter in a more... civilized manner."
Mrs. Susan's eyes narrowed, her jaw set with determination. "Discuss it?" she scoffed. "The only thing we're going to discuss is how you're going to take responsibility for this. If you don't, I'll make sure the whole world knows what a heartless, irresponsible man you are."
The tension in the room was palpable, the air thick with the weight of the ultimatum. Stephanie watched the exchange, her heart pounding in her chest, as she waited to see how Liam would respond
Liam's expression shifted, his eyes narrowing as he considered Mrs. Susan's words. He knew the implications of denying Stephanie's pregnancy, the potential damage it could do to his carefully cultivated public image. But the idea of being a father, of committing to a child and a woman he barely knew, filled him with a sense of unease and panic.
He leaned back in his chair, his fingers drumming against the polished wood of his desk. The room was silent, save for the ticking of the grandfather clock in the corner. Stephanie and Mrs. Susan waited with bated breath, their eyes fixed on Liam, searching for any sign of a c***k in his composure.
After what felt like an eternity, Liam cleared his throat, his gaze settling on Stephanie. "Very well," he said, his voice measured and controlled. "If you are indeed pregnant with my child, then I propose a... mutually beneficial arrangement."
Mrs. Susan's eyes narrowed, her lips parting to protest, but Liam raised a hand, silencing her. "Hear me out," he said, his tone brooking no argument. "I will provide for you and the child, ensure that you both are well taken care of. In return, you will agree to a... contract marriage."
Stephanie's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest. "A contract marriage?" she echoed, her voice barely above a whisper. "What exactly are you proposing, Liam?"
Liam leaned forward, his gaze intense. "A marriage of convenience, Stephanie," he said, his voice low and persuasive. "We will be husband and wife in name only, for a period of three years”. During that time, I will provide for you and our child, and you will be expected to fulfill the duties of a wife." I am proposing this because I do not know how my reputation would handle this child out of wedlock angle and the family guy ploy still closes deals so ...?
Mrs. Susan's face contorted with rage, her hands clenching into fists at her sides. "You can't be serious," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "You expect my niece to enter into some sort of... arrangement with you?"
Liam's expression remained impassive, his gaze unwavering. "It's a generous offer, Mrs. Roberts," he said, his voice smooth and calculated. "One that will ensure the well-being of both Stephanie and the child. And if you refuse, well..." He shrugged, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his lips. "I'm sure you can imagine the consequences."
The room fell silent, the weight of Liam's words hanging heavy in the air. Stephanie and Mrs. Susan exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with a mix of fear, anger, and uncertainty. They knew that they were facing an impossible choice, one that would change the course of their lives forever.
