Chapter 13: Nate POV

The first week with Willa in the pack house flew by. We had not progressed sexually beyond that first day together but I was not mad. I knew it would take her time to get more comfortable. I had to be patient. I knew that, though my wolf was losing his patience with me.

"Mark mate, mark mate!" He chanted in my head. I would tell him to be quiet and he would growl at me. At night when Willa was asleep I would watch her and plan for how we would mark our mate. My wolf told me it needed to be soon. I told him it needed to be romantic. "We are wolves. We mark and mate," he said, sounding like a caveman. I tried my best to ignore him and treasure my time with Willa.

During the first few days Willa met with every pack member and got to know them. She also spent a lot of time with the pack pups. She really seemed to love pups. We had not discussed it yet but I had a feeling eventually she would want pups herself. It was ingrained in us as wolves and she definitely had maternal instincts.

When kisses were all I was getting and my wolf started lecturing me I gave into his selfishness and asked Willa for a dinner date in hopes of moving forward.

On our tenth day together we had dinner on the terrace and then I had an Omega bring us a slice of cake each for dessert.

"I hope you have a sweet tooth," I said, knowing full well she did. She beamed a big happy smile at me and said, "Nate, you shouldn't have!" I laughed as she stuck a fork into the icing like an over excited pup and put it in her small mouth. She moaned with pleasure, "It's so yummy."

"I thought we would do something fun tonight," I smiled, my plan coming into play. She looked to me excited, "Oooh, what are we doing?" I held my hand out  towards her and said, "I want us to go for a run together." She gasped. Even someone as innocent as Willa knew how intimate it was to run together in our wolf forms.

"Are you sure?" She asked, blushing. I brought her into an embrace, inhaled her scent, and said, "It would bring us even closer together, but only if you're ready." She hesitated a moment but agreed. Her eyes flickered between black and green, showing me that her wolf was surfacing. I could almost hear her purring, happy that she and my wolf were going to be together at the same time again.

I showed Willa where the running path started in the woods. "This is a safe pre-cleared path that patrol uses on occasion but usually it is for runs." She nodded and said, "Where do we put our clothes?" I pointed to a tree on the right and said, "We all have our favorite trees but I always put my clothes behind that one." She nodded and followed me to the big oak tree.

Her eyes turned black the moment she saw me take my shirt off. She grinned, "Hello, mate." I smiled back, "Willa's wolf, I presume?" She nodded, "Yes, though Willa is present so don't say anything you wouldn't want her to hear." I laughed but her expression remained serious. "Oh right," I mumbled. I almost forgot that she never got shut out like I did.

She began to undress and I couldn't help but watch. I had seen Willa naked before but honestly I couldn't get enough of her curves. Unlike human Willa the wolf was not embarrassed in the slightest. If anything I thought she was undressing in an intentionally seductive way. "Like what you see?" She asked. I nodded. I could feel my wolf surfacing, reacting to the arousal radiating from our mate.

"Before I shift I want to see your wolf," I said to Willa while also pushing my wolf back. He was going to see our mate the moment he took over when I phased. I wanted to see her while I still had control. "Okay," she said, her eyes green. She was Willa again for a moment. I watched as she closed her eyes and phased. She was tiny, but beautiful. She had a pup-sized red wolf with glossy fur and white paws. Her eyes, which should have been black, were a bright emerald.

"How?" I asked, aloud. Before I could hope to get an answer my wolf took over.
