Johnny The two weeks I spent with Syd were life changing. I'm not sure it's totally hit me yet that we're trying to have kids. I've always wanted kids and she's going to be an amazing mom. It's been almost a month since I've been back on the road and there's still no news as to whether she's pregnant or not. She said that since she's had the IUD for a couple years it would take a while for her to have a period so until she sees her doctor we won't know. I want to tell the guys but we decided to keep it a secret until we know for sure. I can't wait to be a dad. I've written even more songs and the label is thrilled. I'm floating on air and even the fans can tell. I'm at a meet and greet and the fans keep commenting on how much happier I seem. There's a commotion among the fans in line and my heart drops when I hear Sydney's name and cries. Our manager rushes up to us, excusing the fans. "It's Sydney, Johnny... She's gone missing." My heart shatters and I feel like I can't breathe. "No. This can't be happening. NO!" I need to get out of here. She can't be gone. Not when I just got her. I scream as I punch the wall until I feel my hand crack. The guys pull me back and try to calm me down. I break down and cry like I've never cried before. She can't be gone. Once I've cried out all my anger, the guys get me on a plane back to LA. Cade gets us to Nash's house where Syd's whole family is there. As soon as we drive up Nash is wrapping her arms around me and we cry together. I've never cried so much in my life but it's the only reaction that doesn't involve punching more things. They call a doctor to look at my hand. "It's not broken, but you'll need to wear a brace to keep it from getting worse." I nod as they put the brace on. I'm barely functioning but I know I need to stay strong for Sydney. Her mom arrives and gives hugs to all of Nash's family before turning to me. She cups my cheeks and kisses my forehead. "She'll come back to us. She loves you so much." The police come and set up their headquarters here at the request of the police chief. With such a high profile case they don't want leaks getting in the way. They interview the whole family and leave me for last. "Sir, we know this is a stressful time but anything you can tell us will help us find her." I nod, "I'll answer any questions you have." "Did she ever feel like someone was watching her?" "Yes. She kept seeing signs wherever we went. The first one said Sydney Draper is going to die. The next one said that I wouldn't be able to protect her..." I break down again, "I'm sorry. We put more security on her apartment to help make her seem safer and even talked about getting her a body guard. She refused. Said she had plenty of body guards in the form of paparazzi." I chuckle wetly at the memory. "What did she mean by that?" "She had developed a working relationship with the paparazzi that regularly follow her. She would bring them coffee, has bought them meals on more than one occasion. Have you talked to them yet?" The officer nods, "Turns out she had asked for privacy while she went to a doctor's office. That's when they grabbed her. Do you know why she would do that?" A tear slides down my cheek before I rub my face. "Yes. We've been trying to get pregnant. We didn't want people to know until we knew she was pregnant. If she was going to her OBGYN, she wouldn't want them to know." "So she might be pregnant?" I nod as her mom, Nash, and Nash's mom burst into fresh tears. "Sir! You should see this!" A young deputy pulls up a video that was sent to them. "Sydney! Oh my god!" She's tied to a chair and you can tell she's been drugged with something. "Hello... my name is Sydney Draper... please... please let me go..." "Shut up! I already told you the only way I'll let you out of here." Fuck. I know that voice. "It can't be..." I look at Cade. "It's Sabrina." "Who's Sabrina?" "Sabrina Mitchell. She was a fan who got obsessive. We all filed restraining orders against her and we thought she went to jail for stalking and aggressive assault." The guy at the computer quickly pulls up any information on her. "She owns a building in the industrial district... and the electricity was turned on for the first time in a month last night." The detective starts barking orders and the cops rush out to get my girl. I rub my face, feeling hope. The cops start playing the video again and I feel like I can't breathe. "Please... I'll do whatever you want... just don't hurt my baby..." I feel like I've been punched in the gut. They turn the volume down as they finish watching the video. "She's wanting money and wants Johnny to be the one to give it to her personally." I rub my face, feeling numb. I don't know what I'll do if she doesn't survive this. An hour later a cop runs in. "They found her. They've got an ambulance in route." "Is Sydney okay??" The man looks at the detective as if asking for permission. "I'm sorry I don't have that information..."
