8 Wishes

We get to the beach house and the guys help us clean it up a bit. I don't think anyone has stepped foot in here in 7 months. I used to think about renting it out but now I'm glad I didn't.

A couple hours later a middle aged woman they called Sam showed up with a trunk full of groceries. Johnny chuckles, "We appreciate the gesture but we'll only be here until we leave for Vegas."

She rolls her eyes at them, "I've been feeding you lot for almost 7 years. I'd be surprised if I didn't need to go back out for more."

I can't help but laugh, "I like her." I help her set up the kitchen as she tells me all about the guys.

Nash and Cade are out on the balcony and I feel bad for both of them. Johnny sees where I'm looking and wraps his arms around my waist. "He'll take care of her. He's a good guy. A flirt, but good."

I smile softly, "I wish that's what I was worried about. She's engaged Johnny. Her parents set it up when they were 12. They care for each other, but neither of them are a fan of the arrangement. She wants to make her family happy though, so she hasn't asked to end the engagement. I'm worried they'll fall for each other and she will choose her family. I'm worried she'll break their hearts."

I feel him stiffen behind me at the news and then relax again. He pushes my hair to the side and kisses my neck softly. "Your heart is so genuine and amazing. They're grown adults, Syd. Don't make yourself sick over worrying about them."

I relax in his arms, closing my eyes. "Let's go upstairs... christen our bed..." I giggle when he lifts me into his arms, taking two stairs at a time.

An hour later, we're panting as we hold each other after another ravenous lovemaking session. He holds me close, "Come to Vegas with us... I don't want to spend a moment without you."

I smile up at him, "I'll call work in the morning. I can only take a week off though. They've been bugging me to take some vacation time."

Johnny nods, pulling me into another world-shattering kiss. He gets up to grab a shower and I decide to pull out my phone, finally responding to messages and such.

There is only more speculation about our relationship online but now there are whole articles on me and anything they could find in public documents. I come across an article that is asking questions about my past and my heart drops, my stomach churning.
