Courtroom death

1180 Words
Allerick's smile was filled with anger and wickedness and all the people in the courtroom felt the ferocity of an animal. The Alpha in him was making his presence known and all the werewolves immediately kneeled in front of him. Their leader had appeared and their Alpha commanded respect. All the humans stood up at once, not knowing what to do. Although this was not the first time their king had shown his wolf side to them, it still made them cower in their places. Nobody spoke a word as they waited for the agonizing moment to end. Allerick's eyes were switching between brown and amber, the specks of gold turning deep as time passed. No one, not even Elliot, knew what the man was doing. But he trusted his brother to handle the situation well and find the traitors who had killed their people. Elliot was not at all scared of Allerick and it was the first time ever that he felt this way. After his close and heartfelt talk with Allerick, he realized that the knot in his heart had been undone and he felt himself closer to his brother. Right now, all he saw was a just and mighty ruler rather than a ruthless and fuming Alpha. Allerick was totally in control of his animal. He had summoned his wolf to show the world he was not just a spineless man and he was not any normal human. His wolf was as livid as he was and he had equal rights to end the people who killed the members of his pack. Although his back was facing Elliot, he still felt his brother's warm gaze and his expression softened considerably. But it was momentary. Allerick returned to his feral self immediately and he ambled across the courtroom, his predatory gaze examining every man closely. "Who is the traitor?" He mused as he approached the werewolves who were kneeling in front of him. However, their eyes were on him and Allerick nodded at them in appreciation. "Or should I say, who are the traitors?" Slowly, he walked past the werewolves and approached the humans, most of whom were standing with their heads lowered. Allerick raised his brows in amusement when he saw the men. While the werewolves worshipped him, they also had the courage to look at him in the eye to show their honesty. But humans... To them, he was just their king and very few people in the courtroom admired and respected him truly. They did not worship him, not that he wanted them to. However, they did not even have the courage to stand boldly in front of him and show their sincerity and honesty to him. It was as though they were showing him their vulnerable side, pleading with him silently to let them go. Allerick scoffed lightly and walked all the way towards the front, standing right in front of Gavril. "Minister Gavril, would you mind repeating what you told us some time ago?" He spoke, his calm voice not giving away anything. If not for the traces of fury in his gaze, it did not even seem that the man was livid. Gavril frowned lightly and he blinked a few times in confusion. Yet, he did not stall and did as he was told. "Your Highness, I...I..." He licked his lips, an action that did not go unnoticed by his king. "I presume that we have traitors among us." "You are absolutely right, Minister Gavril." Allerick agreed without any hesitation. "We do have traitors among us and now, I am going to end them." Without any warning, he stretched his hand and pulled out the heart of the human standing beside Gavril. Gavril did not see his king's actions. One moment, the man beside him was standing upright and the next instant, he was lying dead at his feet without any heart. It all happened in a blink of an eye and his lips parted in fear. He was appalled. "I apologize for ruining your coat." Alerick clicked his tongue lightly as though he was scolding himself before he crushed the heart in his hand, making every man freeze in his place. "I will compensate you for the mess I made, Minister Gavril." It was only then that Gavril realized that his entire coat was splattered with crimson liquid while he was standing in a pool of blood that kept flowing behind him. With a gasp, Gavril stepped away from the blood, not noticing his king's lips curving up for a brief moment. "That must have scared you all, gentlemen. I apologize." Although he apologized, everyone in the courtroom knew the truth. Their king was anything but apologetic for what he had done. Yet, no one condoned him for his actions. "If you reveal the truth yourself, I might be merciful. Otherwise..." Barely had he started with his threat when two humans dropped to their knees as they started bawling their eyes out. "Your Highness, please forgive us." One of the men begged, while the other kowtowed fervently. The two men's unexpected confession did not affect Allerick. But it could not be said the same about the others. They were aghast as they kept staring at the now kneeling humans. "Interesting." Allerick's tone did not waver at all. "Say, why did you betray me? Give me a reason to justify your actions and I might show mercy." But no one spoke and they lowered their heads immediately, making Allerick raise his brows at them. "I am waiting." He probed only to get their silence in return. "Since you two have decided to stay mum, I have no other choice but to kill you," Alerick stated, as though he was speaking about the weather and not about ending two humans' lives. Without any warning, he kicked the man nearest to him, forcing his head down as he exerted his strength, slowly crushing his head, and the man howled in agony, filling the already dreadful place with his screams. It was bone chilling and some of the faint-hearted men averted their gaze, unable to take the gruesome sight in front of them. "How many more humans are you going to kill, Allerick?" All of a sudden, the man who was kneeling bellowed, forcing everyone's eyes on him. He was now glaring at the fierce king as he clenched his fists. "How many humans are you going to kill in your madness?" "What are you speaking about?" Allerick narrowed his eyes, not knowing what the man was referring to. But he had an inkling that whatever he would say next would reveal a lot about all that was happening to his pack members. "How many humans do you and your kind want to kill before you let us go? Was it not enough that you ended an entire..." Before he could finish, he dropped dead, blood dripping down his lips and chin, stupefying everyone in the courtroom, including Allerick and the man responsible for the predicament slit his own neck before anyone could stop him.
