His Blind, Deaf Queen

chanpter 5

Delukas pov

"So you are the young wolf meant to join our army is that correct?" The king asked sounding annoyed by what just happened. "Yes my king. My parents volunteered me without my knowledge but i would gladly serve you you're highness." I say slowly lifting my head and meeting his eyes while speaking. Ryker keeps trying to turn our gaze to our mate and its pissing me off. "You're going to get us beheaded! Focus on the king you i***t!" I yell at him in my head. "Mate seems confused. Why does she not look at us? I dont like this!" He says in a panic. "My king why does the princess not look at me? I am her mate. Does she not want me?" i ask hoping she will answer me herself. "My daughter is blind Deluka." He says in a flat tone I can hear the pain he feels. And my wolf wimpers in my head. "Why does she not speak to me?" I ask the concern evident in my voice and written all over my face as again I hope she responds. "My daughter is also deaf." The queen now speaks in a strong feminine voice. Just then the princess does something no one would have expected in their wildest dreams. She lundged at me wrapping her arms around my neck the skin to skin contact was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. But without any warning or hesitation she sunk her canines into my marking spot and before I could think the most angelic voice spoke in my head. "You must mark me hurry!" my body moves on its own as my teeth sink deep into her neck marking her as mine for life.

We release each other and she stands in a protective stance in front of me with her small arms out stretched and her body tense. I look between her and her parants. "They must be mindlinking each other." I tell Ryker. "Who cares? We have a mate and she wants us!" He says blissfully enamored by our mate. And I was also completely at her mercy.

Kalistas pov

"Young lady what on the goddesses green earth are you doing?!" My mothers voice rang in my head through the mind link. "You will move away from him this instant Kalista!" My fathers voice boomed in my head giving me a slight headache. "I want my mate and now you have no choice!" I say turning to them smiling showing off the freshly made mark on my neck and sheidling him from anything my parents might try to do to him. I feel him stand behind me and I know he is taller than me im only 4'11" so he must be taller than me. "You know not what you have just done child!" My mother screeched through the link. "I have chosen my mate. I have my king now!" I say angry at them for acting so heartless. "No kindom of mine will be run by some country bumpkin!" my father yells. "You have no choice I am the future queen!" I yell back at him. "Your brother or sister can easily have the title of future ruler if I see it be fitting and right now you are showing me they deserve it more!" "You cant do that! The throne is mine by birth right! I am the eldest! I've trained to be a strong and noble queen under mother my entire life despite my setbacks!" I scream at him with tears running down my cheeks. "You will go to your room now Kalista! I will deal with you once I have calmed down!" My father shouts. I scoff and grab Delukas hand and begin running toward the palace. "Kalista you will leave the wolf here!" My mother yells at me. "I'm taking him to a guest room!" I yell back as we enter the palace doors. I run upstairs with him to the third floor and stop in front of the door to our largest guest room. I open the door pull him in with me and throw it closed then turn so our bodies face one another. "I'm so sorry about that. My parents are only mad at me. You have nothing to worry about I'll handle it." I say to him hoping he understands.

Delukas pov

I stand up behind my tiny mate and yet the stance she has taken to protect me has me feeling so small in comparison. "Our mate is strong!" Ryker says in my head with pride. I smile agreeing with him. My eyes are glued to her frame as she seems to be linking the king and queen. I want to link her and ask what is going on but before i get the chance she grabs my hand and starts running into the palace. Anger evident on the faces of her parents I feel bad that I'm the reason they are mad at her. Everything happened so quickly I didn't get to thank them for letting me join their army. The inside of the palace was blured as my mate ran so quickly I didn't get to take it in very well. As we run up the stairs it occurs to me she is doing all of this in a massive royal gown and heels while being blind. "Our mate is amazing!" Ryker says in my head. My amazement at my mate only grows as she stops infront of a door on the third floor and opens it pulling me in with her and slamming the door shut. She faces her body to mine. And my heart leaps into my throat as my body shakes being so close to my mate. "I don't even know her name." I say to Ryker. "Ask her wolfs name too dummy!" He says. Just as I'm about to ask, her voice rings in my head again like the most breath taking song on goddeses green earth. "I'm so sorry about that. My parents are only mad at me. You have nothing to worry about. I'll handle it." without thinking I get on my knee to her eye level and slowly place my hand to the softest skin ive ever felt on her cheek and feel her lean her face into my touch. "Please my most beautiful mate in the world. I beg for your name." I say in our newly formed link. She tenses as I speak to her and I fear she may not like my accent. I am after all just a country wolf. Tears stream down her face and I feel panic rise in me. I wipe the tears with my thumb and move to take my hand from her face assuming she no longer wants me to touch her. I'm completely shocked as she grabs my hand and brings it back to her face then places her other hand on my own cheek. My head moves on its own leaning into her touch also. "Kalista." She says as she sobs into my hand. But when I notice they smile on her face my worries flow away like the tears streaming down her cheeks. I wipe them away again then hold her face in both my hands. "Oh please forgive me but my wolf wont stop begging for your wolfs name." She says in the link. "Ryker." I say almost cutting her off. "And please he is dying to know your wolfs name as well." I say sounding embarrassed. "Her name is Nyla." She says gently. And my body completely melts at her voice as Ryker howls excitedly in my head hearing his mates name. I want to ask if I can hold her but before I get the chance there is a knock at the door. A few seconds pass and a girl walks in. "The king will see you both in his office." She says flatly. "This can't be good." I think to myself.
