Unnecessary Problems

Avery's POV

I can't believe him, the nerve of that man!

And to think I thought he was caring and loving. What an ass!

He basically called me a w***e. He let his stupid jealousy issues cloud his sense of judgement. I can't believe he locked me inside this room

"Arrgh" I yelled "Axel if you don't let me out I will break down this door!"

If you are wondering how this happened I'll tell you. After I left my parent's house I called Claire who asked me to come over to her place, I went there and spent about an hour there then decided to go home both Claire and Chase hugged me and bid me goodbye.

I got home and as soon as my mate saw me he pulled me into a kiss, there was nothing sweet about this kiss it was rough and demanding like he was punishing me. I didn't like it so I pushed him away from me. I saw his expression and he was angry, I was so confused about what I had done wrong so I asked him and he started to say I took him for a fool this increased my confusion because I didn't understand

"Axel calm down let's talk this out," I said

"Talk what out?! You come here having another man's smell around you and you think I would be ok with it" he yelled

"What?! Chase is just a friend and if the smell bothers you so much I'd go take a bath and change" I appealed to him

"A bath won't change that you didn't save yourself for me. A bath wouldn't change the fact that you betrayed our bond my f*****g Chase". And I slapped him

"What the hell are you even saying? You are so jealous your brain is no longer working and you are there spewing rubbish."

Now he was royally pissed and his wolf had completely taken over and he grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder

"Kai put me down this instant" I yelled. Suddenly, he aggressively dropped me in our bedroom and locked the door. "Since you use your freedom to plan meetups with your ex-lover then you don't deserve the privilege of going out so from now on you will be kept under lock and key " I heard him yell

Under no circumstances should she be let out of that room I heard him order from outside. That is how I got here.

I was going to come home and tell him about everything I had learned about myself today but look how he acted just because I spent time with Chase. Imagine how he might react if he finds out I'm half-elf I thought bitterly

"Since he's so upset about the smell let's go take a bath and change maybe he would calm down then," Iris said

"I don't care how angry he is, his anger isn't justified. He has no right to treat me this way" I said with tears in my eyes.

The next day I woke up to find food by my side, I ran to the door but to my dismay, it was still locked. I couldn't believe Axel didn't come back to the bedroom last night and he left me locked in. With newly formed determination I started thinking of how to get out, then I remembered that he didn't take away my phone. "That blockheaded mate of mine was going to get what is coming to him," I thought as I dialed Claire's number, I would've called my mom but I knew she wouldn't be able to help me, She was way too meek

"Good morning," I said after Claire replied

"Good morning, how was your night," she said

"It was ok, Claire I need you to tell your dad that I'm being locked up in the Alpha's house" I said

"Wait are you saying that Axel locked you up?! I can't believe he'd do something like that"

"What happened between you too"

"I'll tell you later please just help me now"

"Well, my dad isn't around but I could tell Chase to come reason with Axel," she said

"No, please don't do that. I'm fine here just wait till your dad gets home "

"Ok, be safe" she said

"Thank you so much, "I said

"Iris why is he acting like this, Did I really do something wrong," I asked her

"No, he is acting wrongly"

After some hours I felt myself being carried from the floor I was sleeping on. I didn't even know when I fell asleep but being engulfed in my mate's scent brought me joy, I hummed in satisfaction. As he dropped me on the bed, it was then my brain that he was back. I slowly sat up and stared at him we both didn't say anything we just kept looking at each other

"I'm sorry" I heard him say

"Sorry for what," I asked

"For everything, for accusing you wrongly for disrespecting you, for locking you in the room; Everything."

"What finally brought you back to your senses," I asked

"My sister told my parents what was going on and my dad made me understand that I was wrong and my Dad's Beta confirmed that nothing ever happened between you and his son."

"You seemed so convinced that I had something with Chase, why is that"

"Because his sister told me so and you ran away from me the day we met," he said, and to say I was shocked is an understatement

"When was this? Are you sure it was her? I asked in shock

"Yes, I'm certain it was Claire"

"Why would she tell such a lie" I was so confused

"I don't know and I honestly don't care all I want is your forgiveness," he said holding my hand "I would do anything to show that-" he stopped when I slapped him.

"Next time discuss things with me, yesterday's problem was avoidable and how dare you lock me up like I'm some criminal," I said

"First off, Ouch! and second I was blinded by jealousy and rage. I haven't been with any other woman because I knew making love is something sacred that I wanted to experience with you and you alone. So when I thought you had already shared that with him I was upset. "

"Oh, This is all my fault. I ran because I didn't know what to do at that time. Claire had thought that the both of you would-be mates, so finding out that you were my mate in front of her like that made me feel like- "

"Like you took something from her" he completed

"I should have told you, if I had then all this wouldn't have happened "

"But why the hell would she think we are mates" he asked

"It's a power-seeking thing I guess, it was mostly her mother, something about you both being close as kids"

"I was close with Chase, she was his annoying sister that followed us everywhere," he said

"You are mean," I said with a laugh

"Let's not talk about them anymore, I want to focus on us. He said as he held me in his arms

I was happy we were able to resolve the issue but my best friend was the one who caused the problem by telling such a harmful lie. She definitely has some explaining to do.
